That'd be too bad. I'd love see how they fare against equal talent in their age group. The Ky Elite Kings kept it close for a little while against them but even they were eventually outmatched.

 

I think Ky Select is stronger physically compared to the Magic. I don't know how the Magic would have fared in the 16U group. Probably Final Four but who knows. I am glad I got to see them when I did.

 

Magic very talented group, no doubt about it. Nobody from KY challenges Houston Select and Tony Upchurch at Nationals.

Among the nine from Kentucky will be five Louisville prospects: Central’s D’Angelo Russell, Ballard’s Quentin Snider and Kelan Martin, Pleasure Ridge Park’s Antonio McDaniels and Trinity’s Craig Owens.

Dixie Heights’ Brandon Hatton, Lafayette’s Jackson Davis and Henry Clay standouts Trey Grundy and Jordan Green will also be participating in the elite camp.

I really like Hatton. Is there any video of his game winning shot that he hit at the buzzer during pool play Friday night?

Would love to see KY Select play the Magic. Select wins IMO. Really surprised the Magic kids played in the U15.

 

I was actually surprised to see KY Select play up, because I, too, would have loved to see the two teams matchup. I would say this Magic group played 15U because they already had a 16U team. KY Select proved they are very capable at any age group.

 

Having said that, I think KY Select would be the favorite because of their time together and how well they play together. The Magic win on paper with the amount of talent they have, but the chemistry of the Select would probably prevail.

Shane Hall (Prestonsburg, Ky./ Johnson Central)

PF 6-8, 185 pounds

Hall is a highly competitive power forward who plays with great energy and urgency. He has a excellent basketball IQ as well. Hall is sneaky athletic and does a great job attacking the rim from the high post or along the baseline, where he will finish above the rim with a clear path. He uses his great hands to rebound and touch to finish through contact on a consistent basis. Eastern Kentucky and Purdue are checking out Hall so far.

• Undersized 6-5 forward Justin Johnson (Inez, Ky./ Sheldon Clark) simply wins you over the way he competes and gets things done on both ends of the floor. He won't wow you with athletic ability, but his consistent energy and effort will. He rebounds on both ends like a mad man at times by simply wanting the ball more. He has good hands and touch around the rim and finishes very well, although it is below the rim. He is blue collar and we appreciate the way he played."

The bulk of that 2014 Ky All Star team plays for the adidas Invitational 15U Platinum Tourney champs. Just wondering how they fared against Indiana competition if they played against any.

They typically play up in 16U and did so in the Adidas Invitational. I think the Louisville Magic should do the same. No point in beating a team 133-21 while still pressing late in the game today.

They didn't beat anyone like that in Indy last week. Meanstreets gave them a good game as did whoever they played in their championship game. Who did they play today? Does anyone know?
