May 19, 201115 yr I am the same way. I love flying. I have flown at least 100 times and will fly to go anywhere whenever I can afford it. Haven't flown nearly as much (I'm only 24 though), but I agree. I'd rather fly to Lexington than drive there. I find it to be one of the most relaxing experiences.
May 19, 201115 yr Absolutely they should have to buy two seats. My personal space shouldn't be allowed to be violated because Joe Schmo doesn't have the self control to put down the extra piece of pizza or walk away from the buffet. Even if they did have the self control but some kind of physical impairment required them to be in your "personal space", it does not mean they purchase 1 ticket. They have to buy to accommodate their needs... or drive.
May 19, 201115 yr Is there a possibility of airlines designing/buying planes with smaller seats, thus making more people "too fat" and have to charge them for two seats, while being able to cram even more people into their already crowded cabins.
May 19, 201115 yr Personally, I feel if you're so intolerant of people touching you, then you should drive. It's not anyone elses fault you have such a deficiency. I know enough about myself to know that 1) I have control issues....I'm going to be miserable if I'm forced to sit in one place without any hope of getting out of the craft for any length of time; 2) I don't like people touching me...even people I know; 3) I don't particularly want to partake in conversation with someone I don't know. So, therefore I drive.
May 19, 201115 yr How smelly is too smelly to fly? I have been on some flights with some nasty people. 1995, I was on a flight from Phoenix to Dallas. There was a fellow on the flight that evidently hadn't bathed that year and it was December. He was sitting several rows behind me, and the smell was horrendous. The people next to him got sick and started puking causing a chain reaction all over the cabin. That's the worst flight I've ever been on, and I was on one that had to emergency land in Orlando a few years ago.
