They will be alright. Don't think they will repeat, but they will be fine. 11-2.

FINALLY The Rebels have COME BACK to BGP!!!!!! Can you ssmmmmeeeellllllllllllll WHAT the Rebels are cooking?????

It is going to be a very interesting year. I'll get this party started though.

I am unsure about how we'll start the season seeing as how we start the season against the greatest high school football program in the history of Ky High School football in Highlands. I think we will be better than people think. A lot of kids expected to be major contributors got a lot of time on the field last year so I expect the transition to the new names to be a smooth one.

What I expect this year......

Zach Hester will shine on offense and defense.

Devon Cox will have a tremendous year running the ball.

Our defense will still be stout led by linebackers Zach Hester, Kyle Kephart. Our defensive line will be anchored by Trey Yeager, Keith Thieleman and Keegan Kendrick and our entire secondary returns. Yes, our defense will be and should be as nasty as always.

We will beat Highlands at least once this year. Whether it is in August or November, it will happen. Our boys believe it, our coaches believe it, I believe it and we all love the fact that everyone thinks that Boyle County will lose by 2+ tds.

There. I said it. Let this thread officially begin.:D

I think they will be very good for many years, never Count them out. Larry does a great job.

Those will be great games to see... probably the marquee match-up of week zero in Danville. I can't speak for everyone but those that follow HHS football closely remember how good Boyle traditionally is and would be happy with a W on the road, whether by 1 or 14.

Sounds like their DBs will return which should bode well for Boyle when they play solid passing teams (LexCath/Highlands).

That I do know. I expect a close game. Especially being that it will be both teams first game. I am looking forward to seeing Highlands once again.

Highlands 2nd game....Week -1 Trinity:D Trust me, Highlands will be already battle tested from a game like scrimmage against the Shamrocks!!! I look for a very good game between HHS/Boyle. I know French is still thinking about the 2007 beat down in the playoffs he took from Highlands when he was at Lincoln Co.

Maybe we should try to scrimmage St. X so we can be properly tested before the Highlands game.:D

We are the definite underdog, even at our house. I just hope that if we do take a thumping from Highlands in week 0 that we can mentally bounce back and regroup and properly prepare for the second meeting.(provided we get past a tough LexCath team)

Back at ya there fella. I'm pretty sure all this bull about being the underdog is just that. Boyle is a top notch program with plenty of Championship history. It would much more interesting to read your post if it doesn't include shot after shot. Ha, that;s what a lot of people say about my post I'm sure. Yours kinda of remind me of another poster. But hey to each his own.

I look forward to the trip to Danville. Some new wheels a coming. I'm sure arrangements will be made later when it's closer to game time. If I recall our last trip down there, there was some good ole tailgating going on. It should be fun.

What are the key positions that Boyle has to fill? Obviously they have some huge shoes to fill at LB.

I haven't made any shots in quite a while. At least I didn't think I had. I put smilies in and everything trying to keep it light. Is Boyle County not the underdog in game 1? I could have sworn we were. Everything I have said in this thread are my true feelings. I expect a close game but factor in a new O-Line and whichever QB wins the starting job will make his very first start against Highlands and then you tell me who the favorite is and who the underdog is. Just trying to be realistic. But of course now people will say I am making excuses. Nope. Just keeping it real. If we take a thumping in game 1 I hope we can stay mentally tough and prepare for game 2 IF we get past a tough tough LexCath team. I really don't see what is so off base by me saying that.

QB and O-Line. All new faces and names. With any new faces and names there is uncertainty. There may be a 2 way or 3 way battle at QB. I expect a 2 way battle between Tommy Hastings and Casey Whittle. Been hearing Hastings has the edge right now but we haven't gotten to July yet so I am taking that with a grain of salt. I am not worried but if there was a cause for concern anywhere on this year's team it is those two areas. I do trust our coaches to have the proper personnel on the field and ready to play. Knowing that Devon Cox will be in the backfield and that Jarrod Harrington catches absolutely everything thrown in his direction I don't worry much. Lloyd Hall and Blake Mason also have proven to have dependable hands as well. We just need to make sure our QB has time when needed, makes the right decisions and that Devon has some holes to run through. I love our talent at the skilled positions.

We replace Lamar Dawson and Chris Cook at LB. We won't replace Lamar's ability/potential as a linebacker but I don't expect to see any drop off in production at any linebacker spot. Zach Hester was arguably the second best LB on the team when healthy and he'll be back and Kyle Kephart is similar to Chris Cook. Not sure who will fill in the two spots at linebacker that are open but I am not worried about those spots. There are likely only 3 spots open on the entire defense and there will likely be some fierce competition for those 3 spots as well. I have no worries or concerns whatsoever with defense.

Rebels have been on an impressive run in their own right. They have won 30 straight games and are 43-1 the last three years.

Everytime they've faced replacing a leader/star they have stepped up.

In 2008 the Rebels lost Jordan Aumiller (TE) to UK and their QB (Mason) graduated.

BC came back and went 15-0 behind the running of Rees MacShara and a stingy Defense. But he graduated, taking the running game (many thought) with him.

Still the Rebels returned in '10 to go 15-0 and win with a balanced rushing attach and a tough Defense led by All-American Dawson who has taken his talents to the West Coast and USC.

French will have his hands full replacing what he has lost but he seems to do it well.

I look for Boyle to struggle at points but be ready to make a run in the playoffs against some very good competition in Lexington Catholic and Highlands.

I'm sure Coach Roe will have the new line coached up and ready by August!
