How many players does O'Cath dress?

I don't have an exact number of how many the Aces dress but I would guess around 70 or 80.

I think we dress 53 kids right now but ask Midee-1 about that. Just a thought about our special teams, last year we had a kid who could kick to end zone like 30 times on the year. We got spoiled on him and he is now at G-Town kicking. Dwain Evans is our senior kicker this year and has came along way. He is doing a fine job kicking. He does not have the BOOT that Meko had but he is just as accurate on placement. our special teams have blocked a punt against Ashland AAA, beat them(sophomore #8 Jones) scored a TD, Derek Timberlake blocked the extra point against Newport in OT to seal the victory. Not to mention that we have ran back kickoffs and punts for TD, knocked the living snot out of returners to cause fumbles, SO......

We need to work more on our special teams- I do think this is the weakest link in our chain. No offense Devils, it was a hard choice to make.

I apologize for harping on the "going both ways" issue. I'm not going to talk about fatigue or anything related to that issue. However, one more comment that made me realize something . . . 65! Let's just say that it's 60 for the sake of argument. With 60 players, and according to the posts on BGP 8 go both ways, that means that over 80% of the players don't play on offense or defense (I'm not including special teams). That's interesting and puzzling with a team that has 60 or 65 players. For a 2A team 60 is a lot!

I do know that of the 9 that go both ways I think 7 are seniors. We only have 11 seniors on this years team and 2 of them are now injured. I know this does not answer the question. Just providing a little information.

Thank you for the info. As you said, it just kind of makes you think. It's hard to believe that 50-55 players don't see action.

I do stand corrected. According to my wife there are more like 60ish. But I understand what you are saying. We do have several that play on special teams that do not see alot of PT in a game.

I think the philosophy is to put the best 11 on the field. If that happens to be a kid that plays both ways then so be it.

 

I'm sure Catholic has some offensive kids that are as good if not better than some of the defenders that start and visa versa
