I know Lunardi is pretty useless, but what a great draw for Kentucky in this one. Being the 5 vs. Butler is a prime 5-12 matchup, but if they can get by that, the top 4 seeds in the bracket are: 1-BYU, 2-Notre Dame, 3-North Carolina, 4-St. John's. This would be far and away the easiest road they could get when you look at the top 4 seeds in the other brackets.

^ As easy as it could possibly even get, IMO. But the two teams that everyone will be scared of in the tournament are in that bracket, and that's MSU and KSU. Both teams are capable of beating any team on any day.

2nd round exit...

2nd round exit...

Obviously. No SEC team would have a chance against a Big East squad on a neutral floor.

I see a possible UK-UW rematch in there. That would be a really good game.

The only team that worries me is St. Johns but UK would be okay with them on a neutral floor.

Hottest team in the country against a team that can't seem to win away from home. Clearly an absurd statement by me...

To be fair.. It's a team that can't seem to win a true road game. UK's played well in neutral site games this year. Albeit, they haven't looked like the same team as earlier in the season with the exception of a couple games.

Yea they sure looked good in the 16 point blow out loss to UConn on a neutral floor....and they played a Notre Dame team that wasn't fully healthy on a neutral floor.

UK doesn't match up well with St. John's if that's the way the bracket played out.

St.John's has several good guards to neutralize Knight and Lamb.

If I was Cal and Barnhart, I'd be asking.....Where do we sign!!! This would be the best chance to make a run.

St John's is also the most veteran team in the country and UK is carried by freshman and a few upperclassmen that have been reluctant to take charge. Bad recipe in a tournament game.

UK can't afford foul trouble and St John's attacks the rim relentlessly.

UK has not been a great defensive team on the perimeter and Dwight Hardy is hanging 20-30 on everyone.

But yeah, silly me. UK would win it all with this draw...

St. John's is a good team, but much like UK, they are very beatable outside the confines of their home arena(s). I think that would be a good game, but to think UK couldn't win is silly GT.

The most veteran team in the country, that hasn't played in a single NCAA tournament game if I'm recalling correctly. In terms of NCAA experience, UK actually reigns supreme.

Also, think a team like Belmont could give St. John's (or any 4-5 seed) all they can handle. As could Butler with UK.

I've watched the Red Storm play a few times this year, and they've looked extremely impressive in some (Duke, Pitt), and incredibly ordinary in others (UC, UofL, G'town). Depends on which UK and which Johnnie's teams show up.

St. John's may bounce them, but when you are a 5 seed, there are 0 gimmie games. I would take being in that bracket over any other bracket he has listed.
