BatCats Off to a Slow Start

Unearned runs killed them yesterday.

 

Maile is off to a good start. 2 runs in the opener. 4/8 in the last 2 games.

 

Started first game at catcher, second game at DH, today's game at 1B.

 

Meyer had 13 Ks today in 7 innings. 1 ER.

The 0-3 start is not something they have been accustomed to over the last few years. Typically they start off hot and then run into a buzzsaw, in the SEC.

I wonder if Henderson is under any heat this year.

If he isn't, he should be. Cohen had this program going in a great direction. They were regularly contending in the SEC and were always a force in the country. Things have taken a step back with Henderson so he should have some heat on him right now.

Freshman southpaw Corey Littrell from Trinity HS is scheduled to make his first collegiate start Tuesday at Morehead.

The BatCats pound out 20 hits and beat Morehead State 12-3. Three Cats get 3 hits a piece and Luke Maile has his 3rd straight 2 hit game.

UK blew a 6-run lead in the 8th against winless UIC. Lost 10-8. Maile 2/4.

BTW the College Baseball players are now required to use the new dumb down aluminum bats that the HS will be required to use next year. Was told that Luke said one of his hits this season would have been HR with his old bat but......

I know its early but Luke has show significant improvement this year cmpared to his freshman year and it appears Henderson has recognized it (hence starting in all games play thus far).
