February 13, 201115 yr Not the free throws where Bishop stepped in. It was on the 2 FTs prior to that. If you taped it watch it. 23 shoots. 24 gets fouled. 23 shoots. I'm guessing 23 is the better shooter and he made both of them. The only two FTs Paris Horne shot down the stretch was an off ball foul by Wright on the inbounds and he only made 1 of 2. I'm looking at the official play by play sheet now...
February 13, 201115 yr From Lance... 1530homer.com UC: Fade to black.....again? After starting 15-0 this season UC has gone 4-6....... 2007-2008 UC stood 13-12 after a February 20 win over South Florida. UC then lost seven straight games to end the season..including a loss to Pitt in the first round of the Big East tournament and a loss to Bradley in the first round of the CBI. UC finished the season 13-19 2008-2009 UC stood 17-8 after a February 11 win over St John's UC then to lost 6 of their next 7...including a loss at South Florida, a home loss to Seton Hall and a first round Big East tournament loss to DePaul (DePaul had been winless in conference play). UC finished the season 18-14 2009-2010 UC stood 14-7 after a January 30 win over Providence UC then lost 7 of their next 9 heading into the Big East tournament. UC finished the season 19-16 Doesn't say exactly but it's really bad. Can we consider 4 years a trend?
February 13, 201115 yr The only two FTs Paris Horne shot down the stretch was an off ball foul by Wright on the inbounds and he only made 1 of 2. I'm looking at the official play by play sheet now... He missed the 2nd one where the announcers said the wrong guy was on the line. If Wright was called for the foul the wrong guy might not have shot. The anouncers claimed the foul was on Thomas.
February 13, 201115 yr It's tough to lose a game where you're up 3 late and you don't give up a FG. It's even worse that none of the fouls were on shots. The lane violation was brutal too. Dumb mistakes popped the bubble today
February 13, 201115 yr He missed the 2nd one where the announcers said the wrong guy was on the line. If Wright was called for the foul the wrong guy might not have shot. The anouncers claimed the foul was on Thomas. The foul on Thomas was the 6th team foul and no FTs were shot. Wright then fouled Horne with no time running off the clock to put SJU in the bonus...
February 13, 201115 yr Never seen a team have so many mental let downs in crunch time in my life. Frustrating... Not been watching Kentucky on the road that much this season then huh? In all seriousness, I hate that for UC, still hope they can make it to the dance. On the other hand, Lavin has done an excellent job at St. Johns should be in discussion for COY.
February 13, 201115 yr The offensive production at the end was terrible. I'd like to see UC turn it around, just not next game.
February 13, 201115 yr The only two FTs Paris Horne shot down the stretch was an off ball foul by Wright on the inbounds and he only made 1 of 2. I'm looking at the official play by play sheet now... So there was a foul that everyone seemed to miss on Wright?
February 13, 201115 yr The foul on Thomas was the 6th team foul and no FTs were shot. Wright then fouled Horne with no time running off the clock to put SJU in the bonus... I don't have the luxury to go back and look. The announcers were convinced the wrong guy was at the line. They did miss the second one though.
February 13, 201115 yr I don't have the luxury to go back and look. The announcers were convinced the wrong guy was at the line. They did miss the second one though. They must have missed the reset and foul on Wright then...
February 13, 201115 yr Correct... I see what happened. I watched the replay. While they were showing the replay of Thomas' foul the ball went live and that was when Cashmere fouled the guy. We didn't see that since it was showing the replay and the reaction.
February 14, 201115 yr 8/15 from the line for the Cats. Can't miss that many free throws; that's why they are very important down the stretch.
