The blue Colonels travel to Dixie Heights Thursday nightfor a rematch against the red Colonels. Their first game ended with Dixie getting the win with a 20+ margin. Will Cov Cath be more prepared this time? Any thoughts about the outcome of this game?

I like Dixie in this game. Thelen will be the better big man but Dixie's guards will be too much for CovCath to handle. In a hostile environment and a big crowd I will take the Red Colonels by 10.

Dixie will win this game at home but I don't think that it will be a blow out like the last meeting. CCH is struggling with some chemistry issues but will put up a good fight and keep it within 10 points.

Can't wait for this one. As I posted when they played previously I don't put much stock into a 3rd round consolation game played on a Saturday morning in a grade school gym.

 

Dixie has the best starting 5 in NKY. No question. They have a POY candidate in Hatton. They have the home court. Obviously they will be the favorite but I expect a tight , fun game.

 

I look forward to seeing Schult on Hatton. That will be fun.

 

If CCH gets Pike in foul trouble all bets are off. Thelen will have a field day inside.

I agree with Sealteam - I think this one will be closer but I still think Dixie prevails in the end by 12 - Too much Hatton & Stansbury for the CCH guards to handle.

Dixie by 10-15.

 

I think the Dixie backcourt and overall depth will be too much for the Blue Colonels and Dixie plays extremely well at home.

 

Pike v Thelen inside is going to be a war, as will Connelly v Stansberry.

Baker to me at least seems to be the key to CovCath beating Dixie. I hate to put pressure on him but if Drew plays BIG, CovCath will win!

CovCath had trouble against Scott containing their guards and Dixie also has a very dynamic backcourt. Dixie also has a better frontcourt presence than Scott so I don't see Thelen going off again for 36 points.

 

Thelen will get 25 but Dixies guards will have a big night also.

That's NOT what I'm portraying.

 

I'm saying that in those tourneys it's hard to get a read on either team when it's the 3rd or 4th game in a few days and it's a game for 5th or 7th place played in front of parents and girlfriends.

 

This environment Thursday will be completely different and this game will have a different meaning to BOTH teams. Trust me, CCH was trying to win in Georgetown.

 

I didn't see that game but from reports CCH's defensive effort was "lacking." They've made some tweaks and personnel adjustments which I think will help against Dixie from the defensive end.

 

I'll repeat it so that Dixie fans don't think otherwise: Dixie IS and SHOULD BE the favorite for this game.

I know the last time these two teams played a few weeks back Cohorn gave the CovCath guards problems. I heard he has missed the last two games with flu like symptoms. I know Dixie is starting to go deeper into it's bench. Does anyone have any news if Cohorn is playing tomorrow night?

I agree with Clyde that Dixie is the better team. That doesn't mean Dixie wins. They aren't that much better than CCH. If CCH wins, it is an upset for sure and more than a minor upset IMO.

Everyone knows each teams keys and weaknesses at this point in the year. It is a matter of executing, playing to your strengths and not letting the opponent take advantage of your weaknesses.

I was referring to the defensive pressure that Cohorn put on their guards. I know he alone caused four turnovers And Trammell caused a few himself. And you're right about Connelly. He had limmited time in the first meeting. He will definately help the Blue Colonels if he's on the floor tomorrow night.
