For those who saw the interview, what'd you think?

 

I thought both men handled themselves well. Saw where there was criticism of O'Reilly but I thought he did well at pushing when he needed to push and letting Barry talk when he needed to talk. Covered Egypt, health care, economy, and one particular question I thought was the best: "What do you dislike most about the Presidency?" And Barry's answer was the bubble of the Presidency--not being able to go anywhere or do anything without a mob of people following.

I didn't catch all of it, but I thought it was a good dialogue between the two. O'Reilly definitely pushed the button, but I feel like Obama handled himself well.

 

I do wish that Obama would have had a different response when O'Reilly asked, "How do you feel knowing that there are people out there that hate you?". I wish Obama would have came back with, "Well Bill, how does it make you feel?" lol. I know that might not have been the best, but it would have made me chuckle.

I know that question is one that is catching some attention today, but I thought it was a good question considering the vitriol spilled from both sides of the isle. In fairness, O'Reilly framed the questioned to include Bush, et al. but that part has been omitted.

 

O'Reilly was his usual pompous self and would shut done any long winded talking points conversation, which is what you hope for. I am an O'Reilly fan so I enjoyed the interview. I am willing to bet the President's numbers go up today because of it. Let the truth be known, I think Bill likes Obama contrary to what many will have you believe.

Oh I definitely agree bugatti. I thought it was a fair question, and I liked that Bill O'Reilly asked it. I just thought it have been funny if Obama completely turned it back on him.

Not a chance. I just think he likes him on a personal level.

I think it's interesting that Obama thinks the hardest part is he can't get a burger and Bush answered the same question writing a letter to or calling the family members of a soldier that died in action.

That was my first reaction. But, it is O'Reilly, and in the end I felt he was pretty tame. Maybe that's the best we can get from O'Reilly. But, my first reaction was: "Good God, man! You're talking to the PRESIDENT!"

For the most part, because I want to.

 

It's not out of spite (though I'm not an Obama supporter), because I often refer to President Bush as GWB or Dubya. Have referred to Reagan as The Gipper. Johnson as LBJ. Kennedy as JFK. Eisenhower as Ike. Lincoln as Abe. Need I go on?

 

Now, would I refer to him as Barry if he & I were conversing? No, because I believe that would be highly disrespectful. But on a message board with maybe a couple dozen people reading my words? I don't see that as disrespectful at all.
