Don't take this the wrong way but the people you hang with are old then right? Or they aren't on computers much? I can honestly say it's been at least a decade since I've heard anyone say www before a website.

I really don't know that I've heard it in 10 years. Maybe on a commercial or maybe I just tune it out. I was kind of just messing with you about you being old.

So I guess I'm coming across as old school on this one. I've just always that the the POTUS should be addressed properly even if I disagreed with him. I don't call President Carter "Jimmy" and I don't call President Clinton "Bill" and I don't call President Obama "Barry."

 

I'm with you. Occasionally I will refer to them as their last name only, but typically I try to say President Clinton, President Obama, etc.

 

Regarding the interview itself: I am not too politically involved, nor do I have a strong allegiance to any political party. With that said, I found O'Reilly to be disrespectful, pompous, and generally just a butthole. I don't care if that's how he acts on his show or not - I found it to be very unprofessional. I credit President Obama for keeping his poise. It seemed that O'Reilly was hoping President Obama would get fed up & start taking shots at O'Reilly. Pathetic, really.

I think it's interesting that Obama thinks the hardest part is he can't get a burger and Bush answered the same question writing a letter to or calling the family members of a soldier that died in action.

 

Maybe that's because Bush knew we were in the wrong place fighting the wrong war looking for the wrong people so the guilt was eating him up.

Seems like W's are pronounced 'dubba u' not 'double u' and Dubya is a way of saying W in Texas. That is where I thought the term Dubya was originated and seeing as how it is poking fun at Texas slang/accents it can be perceived negatively just as much as Barry can be.

 

I always called Bush by his last name(in social circles that is. I used other adjectives amongst friends) and Obama by his last name as well. To each his own. I would most definitely refer to both men as Mr. President should I get to have a beer and watch a game with them at some point in my life.

And I am pretty sure it would be even harder if you knew they died when they didn't have to die and you didn't find out that they died for the wrong reason until it was too late. I cannot imagine telling families I am sorry your child/loved one died in Iraq when, IMO, we should have been in Afghanistan in the first place and only in Afghanistan.

The interviewer can control the interview, but he should at least show some respect. My biggest problem with O'Reilly was his snide comments while President Obama was answering his question.
