Mr Simms wasn't happy because during the SEC season Desmond said his son was one of the 3 worst qbs in the SEC.

 

At some sort of appearance Phil confronted him about it and police had to step in.

Weak from Simms. I would hope he has never said a critical thing about any player ever for him to be this weak. If he has never said anytihng negative he needs replaced.

We are only hearing one side to the story, as far as a threat of violence. What is wrong with asking him about something he said? For all we know he has tried to contact Howard and he refuses to reply and this is the first time they meet face to face.

 

It also could have very well started off as Simms trying to teach Howard about better ways to say things. Maybe he was telling Howard you might want to think about how you say things. Telling Howard he could have phrased it without being so derogatory, say something like these teams do not have elite qbs, or say they are struggling.

Simms called out Steve Young a few years back when Young ripped Chris when he was the Tampa QB.

It is still pretty weak. Howard's job is to offer analysis and unfortunately, that is supposed to involve being honest.

He did the same thing to Steve Young when Chris came into the NFL. Young questioned his intellect and Simms went after him in the media.
