I really didn't think much of Phil as it was, but this takes him even lower if that account is all true. I'm sure that at some point Phil has been critical of some other player. Guess what Phil, that was someone's son too.

 

Matt has time to develop and get better, maybe. Then again, he lost his job to Bray who is a freshman, so it's going to be tough for him to gain it back as a senior to be. Chris Simms is awful, and pretty much always was. I never understood why he played a single down ahead of Applewhite who repeatedly showed himself to be a better player in college. The bottom line is neither is the QB their father was, and Phil can't handle that.

Simms is a very emotional guy if you ever here him away from TV. I'd stick up for my son too. Him being a journalist makes him look pretty dumb though. He should know better especially on a stage like the Super Bowl weekend!

It is still pretty weak. Howard's job is to offer analysis and unfortunately, that is supposed to involve being honest.

I think Phil would have whipped him. That being said it has to be hard watching your kids struggle at the same thing you were so good at. Furthermore Phil does look pretty dumb for doing this because as has been stated before I am sure that he isnt always Mr. Positive when talking about players.

I wish Howard had throttled him. I think Simms is about as good of an announcer as his kids are quarterbacks.

Is Simms mad because Howard said it or because Howard is right?

 

The former is probably why he's so angry, but deep down, the latter is part of the motivation too IMO.

Simms would knock him out! hahaha, but dude Phil should have kept his mouth shut, but we have no way of knowing what really happened or was said.
