I agree with you WVFrank, I should have kept what I heard to myself.

Ok, how about this. I stood beside both teams cheerleaders throughout the game and they were both positive and supportive throughout the contest. Nor did I hear them Boo even once. What a great game and even better rivalry. Now let's get ready for round 2.

I am fairly certain you probably would have heard what you claim to have heard on the other bench as well. Not to sure what you claim to have heard but I couldn't hear the person next to me let alone something from across the court.

It was awesome to have so many fans at a game. Was like days of long ago at a boys' rivalry game. Great to see so many people out to support quality girls' basketball (even if some of the kids booed - lol!!).

Shock you better watch Coach Fookes (Is that her name). She is a sneaky one. She might throw a game here and there to get you over confident so she can drop the hammer at regional tourney.

Now, that's a good one;)

Come on now, you know Coach Fookes would never "throw a game", particularly to Ryle!!!:lol:

Booing a top player is something I would expect in an NBA game, not at kids' games. That showed a total lack of class by the Ryle student body. Some players may thrive on it, but I thibnk it is very distracting.
Your operating under the assumption Ryle has been accused of having class at some point. Lower your expectations remember it's Ryle.
Actually I have coached, but regardless of how much I teach them it is up to them to execute. The players are the most important part of the equation. 70-30. If a mediocre coach has great talent, they can still win most games, but if agreat coach has mediocre talent he will bee lucky to win half of the games. Coaching is important, especially when the talent level is close to even. Nell in most cases over the years has had the most talent. Her player pool is larger than most of the schools in NKY but not down state which is where her coaching might help them one day get over the hump. In NKY she usually can rely in part on having the most talent. And I'll probably be persecuted for saying this but if she doesn't have the most talent she is very good at finding it.

Can you elaborate on this statement and put it out there? of course not ;)

Wow! That is about a low class statement from an adult? These are juust ballgames people it's not a Holy War!
I know I should not pick on Coach Fookes record, it's quite impressive, but it really get old listening her fan club when the games are all about the young girls playing and not the coaches. I'm also waiting to hear from the " Usual Suspects" on their take on the game. You know who I mean... Crunch-time, h20boy, bcrebeldad and kyrebel.... ;)

Just getting back into town myself. I wasn't interested in ths game any longer, but it appears you are calling me out :)

It's the 1st HS game I've seen this season. It was a tremendous atmosphere. Ryle had the game plan that I, and most, have said on here many times would work. Take away a couple of BC threats and make someone else step up and beat ya. I was disappointed in Boone overall, but I wasn't in awe of Ryle. IMO, there were two huge keys to this game. Boone had experienced upper classmen defending the guards and there's no reason they never adjusted to take away the right side dribble drive. Everyone in the gym could see where the weakness was and I would venture to guess 30+ points came from right hand layup's. The other big factor was the early wide-open 3's that Browning couldn't knock down. If she dials those in then Ryle could no longer double-triple team Moss then who knows what happens. Boone is usually quite a bit stronger at the PG spot as well. The kid can get ino the paint at will, but needs to learn how to finish.

Ryle is clearly the better team. I've said on here "numerous" times that I felt Ryle would win the 1st match-up. Now that I've seen both teams...Ryle has a great shot at winning the region, but a WHOLE lot more goes into it...talent, coaching, refs, good draw, and a lot of luck...I always lean towards the "been there done that" team with senior leadership. Honestly, I wouldn't be one bit suprised if one or neither team was in the regional championship based on what I watched. There are some teams that can bite either one of these teams on any given night.

Miss moss is the primary one at nthis point, but with research I have heard of many others over the years. Many post last year particularly dealt with it. If you want I'm sure other BPGers could help me out with the other examples. In the mean time I'll research it myself.

Hey Crunch, where have you been since Friday?... it's no fun savoring our victory without you throwing a few darts at me... :)

No one wants that.

The ONLY reason this would be suitable for debate is if someone proclaimed that Boone won with girls that came up through the system in Florence. Otherwise, dead horse.
