Ryle 60 Boone County 50

Featured Replies

Congrats to the lady Raiders. I heard they played well. Like I said I really didn't care who won. But if Ryle did not win it would be completely on the coach. Ryle is by far more talented than Boone, by far. Last night they did what they were suppose to do. The best team with the best players are suppose to win. Lets don't act like this was a big upset or something and now you have the best coach that has ever walked northern KY. Still not sure why Cheeseman is not a starter? I still maintain that your coach can not win games they are not suppose to. If Ryle does not go to the state tournament (and go deep in it) this year and next it will not be the players fault. Ryle has unbelievable talent right now. Atleast two D-1 players if not more. And by the way I forgot just how many regional banners does Ryle have hanging in their gym?
I don't believe it was an upset either. Boone has a nice team but I believe, and always have, that Ryle has the best team in the 9th Region this year and one of the top 3 team in the State right now.

Finally we agree. I must say I love the way you keep things interesting. I really do hope Ryle can make a lot of noise in the state tournament (if they can get there, they have to win the 9th first). I believe they give NKY the best chance down state.

Great game and atmoshere. Only one negative note; the badgering the Ryle fans did towards Sydney Moss. Just curious do people think it's ok to do this towards a high school kid? Does Ryle's Principal and AD think this is ok? How far is too far in high school cheering? Put your 15 or 16 year old in Sydney's shoes and how would you feel? Apparently the administration at Ryle support badgering, not cheering, badgering. I lost all respect for Ryle last night as a school with this classless act. It's a shame the Ryle girls program will have this black cloud over them because of their fans. The paper even mentions it. Remember people these kids aren't paid. Was Ryle's Principal at the game?

I was not at the game, but as a parent, I have witnessed this type of behavior towards one of my daughters at a District Soccer game. It got so bad that the referee came over to the stands and threatened to have the students removed. This type of behavior should not ever happen at a high school event. Someone (Principal, AD, etc.) should address it before a game official has to.
Sweeperboy, you really should just let this one go and quit trying to psycho-analyze the Ryle program or their girls. This win was just a stepping stone to much bigger goals. I know your Lady Birds beat us last week, but if they played 10 games, Ryle would win 9 of those contests.

If you dont think this is a part of the "game" then you got into the same stuff that killed Elvis.

Perhaps Ryle is the best team in NKY this yr and will win the Region, who knows, maybe NCC wins it. And hey, align the stars just right and maybe Highlands, Holy Cross or St Henry steals it.

Will BC win it, probably imo, I just think that when a team beats a team that many think should not have won then it becomes what you stated at the end of your post. LOL.

No gurantees in HS sports my friend....... The better team doesnt always win so really theres no letting go.............Cmon Shock ease up. WOW

You're killing me!!

Booing her everytime she touched the ball was certainly unbecoming.

Student sections are praised for their team spirit. It is happening in every gym especially in boys games. Booing may have been over the top but it is probably no worse than other antics at other schools. Syd leaving the Ryle program the way she did is certainly going to draw the extreme reaction we heard last night but she handled it well. If you just want the kids to sit on their hands then they may as well stay home and play xbox.

Keep it in the stands and I am ok with it. Syd Moss I am sure will use it as motivation for the next game.

I wonder how many of our BGPers ever played High School or college athletics. I did in the 1970's and was booed mercilessly at some schools. I thrived on it! I used it as a tool to compete harder. I honestly don't believe anyone even dislikes Sydney. I took it a a sign of she must be pretty awesome if she is going to draw that much attention from the student body. I don't think we need to make it out to be something sinister.

Ok , I'll ease up a little;) I still think that Ryle wins this matchup 8 out of 10 times with this year's Ryle and Boone's team. IMO Boone was a better ballclub last year.

Great atmosphere last night, taking Shrout out of the game was key and in the 4th quarter Ryle did not guard the point guard Jones until she came in the lane, then it was either a turnover or a missed shot. Jenna played a great game. SHould be a great tournament, hopefully these 2 play 2 more times before the sweet 16. Nice pics Panda!!

It definitely seems to bother the parents more than the player. :)

Agree, agree, agree, agree:)

Right, having made the statement as I did had that been my daughter being boo'd they would have probably had to put me in a straight jacket or escort me out of the gym to get through it.

Gotta go, Cooper game at Ryle this afternoon. My prediction is for an ugly 1st half for Ryle. Hope not, but it's hard to regroup this soon after such an emotional game like last night. Be safe everyone, the ice and snow are back this morning.
