February 3, 201115 yr Author For a guy I considered my best friend? It would be tough. I would hope that my best friend and I could work it out. It really depends on the situation and what all is at stake. I am fiercely loyal and if I felt the situation called for me to do time for my friend I can't say I wouldn't consider it. If I know my best friend is going to tell on me, I am going to confess before he tells on me or has to tell on me. I used snitch because that is what Pettite is going to be seen as by some. He isn't writing a book like Canseco did but he and Canseco will be the only people to point fingers and say "He did it and I know it. " I think this situation will make for some good debates this summer.

They were best friends for a long time and yes if I HAD to lie under oath for my best friend I would strongly consider it.

February 3, 201115 yr Like someone mentioned "Under oath" isn't a choice, no matter who your friends are. Why risk perjury (sp) for your self. Raise your right hand and tell the truth.

If they are your "best friend" they shouldn't put you in a position on going to jail/prison. If they are a real friend, they would fess up, take responsibility for their actions themselves to keep you out of jail/prison.

So if you found out your best friend was a child rapist, you'd look the other way? Says a lot about your character if so.

February 3, 201115 yr If Clemens had come clean at the time Pettite did this would all be behind him. He has no one to blame but himself.
