I was sitting on the 2nd row next to the Holmes Pep Band and it was a horrible call. Peterson was waiting to get fouled, they did foul intentionally because you have to(you've seen that a million times). Again, a horrible call, but not why the Bulldogs lost. They missed their shots at critical moments and missed way too many free throws.

 

I agree Holmes missing free throws down the stretch cost them, especially when Gray only made 1 of 2 to put them up 1 in the closing seconds.

 

I'm simply pointing out that those last 15 or so seconds, the refs made several bad calls that gave Campbell multiple chances to win the game and they were able to capitalize. There were lots of bad calls against Campbell as well, I won't deny that. But I can guarantee you if Holmes wins this game the CC faithful are on here saying the refs cost them the game.

 

For the few bashing me about my observations, I'm sure several of you would be saying the same things had CC lost. The fans at the game more than voiced their opinions throughout the game.

I agree that the refs were bad. I disagree that the walking call was a bad call. I was sitting right at the end of the Camels bench, I didn't think they were ever going to call the walk. The foul that put Losey on the line at the end of the game, may have been a little slow in coming, but he was hacked to pieces before the whistle. No one seems to say anything about all of the none calls that I feel Holmes had way more than their share of during regulation and in the overtime. Both teams were on the court with bad reffing, but to point out a couple of calls that you say changed the outcome game. IMO, I don't think so. afi100 guy, you almost nailed it in the prediction thread.

That's what happened, they didn't take care of business when they could have. Just another game, lessons learned by the 'dogs. This result has no impact on the tournament. It might affect rankings, but they don't matter anyway.

Holmes had a 9 and 7 point lead in the second half and both times Campbell Co came back.

 

The game changing moment was when Losey made two huge 3's back to back to give Campbell their first lead of the game either late 3rd or early 4th quarter. It was back and forth after this.

Your probably right Walter. Had the Camels lost, and had the Camel faithful made a comment about the refs being bad. They would be getting with both barrels from several here. The Camels however didn't lose, so it's the Holmes contingent complaining about the refs and the outcome of the game. Stick around long enough and everyone gets their turn in the barrel.

9th region overall talent level is down this year and the 9th is wide open this year.

I hate when losses are blamed on officiating. Terrible. Congrats to CC on the win.

There were some questionable calls on both ends (there are every game). I also thought is was a blatant travel when the Holmes player was driving at the end of OT after the Losey FTs. Had a shot went in at the buzzer, you would have heard a different tune on here.

 

Anyway, the difference in this game was Josh Graff. He played his best game of the year, attacking the basket and rebounding very well. Great game by the Camels. If Losey, Graff and McGovney are all three on, this team is tough to beat.

 

As for my prediction, something about a blind squirrel and an acorn seems to fit. Better to be lucky than good.
