January 6, 201115 yr Expanding the NKYFL The Northern Ky Youth football league is expanding. We want 2 more teams. Our Loyalty plan is to change the way we feed our high schools. Currently kids play in a program that feeds different high schools. We are working on a plan that is loyal to the high school where the kids live. Our League has 10 programs. These programs have 6 teams. Starters, Pee wee, Midgets Junior, Junior youth, Senior. . We would like 2 more teams to join our league that is going to feed there high school. If interested PM me for any questions. The Nkyfl will use Cov Cath as an example. If they wanted join our league and follow our rules we would love to have them. Here is how it works. We would help them set up a board and choose coach's for there 6 teams. We would then pay the cost for the kids to be outfitted with new Helmets and shoulder pads. Pants and Jersey's. We have fundraisers already set to built up $25,000 to start. We have the fields, Refs, Money, to support our plan. Any high school that wants to build a feeder program in Northern Ky should Pm me. Right now i have been talking to Scott High. And to South Kenton about expanding into 2 programs. If things go well we would love to have 1 team feeding Dixie and 1 team feeding Beechwood. Need 2 more. Our programs boundaries are being voted on to be set as the high boundaries.

January 6, 201115 yr As an outsider, it sounds like to me that the NKYFL is fighting a losing fight at the 7th and 8th grade level as it appears more kids want to play for their middle school teams than the NKYFL. The best strategy might be to focus on 6th grade and younger kids. Where would a 5th and 6th grade Cov. Cath team play?
January 6, 201115 yr What teams are currently represented in the NKYFL. Team Feeder Campbell Co. Red Devils Cambell Co., NCC, Brossart and Highlands Newport Newport, NCC and Highlands Bellevue Bellevue, NCC and Highlands Dayton Dayton Raiders Dixie, Scott, Holy Cross and CovCath Spartans Beechwood, Dixie and CovCath South Kenton Simon Kenton, Scott and CovCath Bengal Tigers Holmes and Holy Cross Erlanger Lions Lloyd, Dixie and CovCath
January 6, 201115 yr Good luck. It sounds like a good idea. The schools save a lot of money and get a feeder team. It is worth a shot because without this, I doubt the senior division will continue to exist.

Thomas had so many feeder programs in the NKYFL.
January 6, 201115 yr I didn't realize Ft. Thomas had so many feeder programs in the NKYFL. How about Cov Cath? And if you listed all the NKYFL teams that have had former players go to Highlands, you would have to list a couple more.

Also got word this week that CovCath is looking into starting a 5/6 grade team. What would be the boundaries for CCH? A good number of their players live in Ft Mitchell anyway, correct? What would that do to the Spartans after taking away the Dixie players as well?

Its a youth league which means most have weight restrictions and some other restriction/modified rules. In fact Cov Cath already plays in a league with modified HS rules. So they already play in a league which requires them to play by "our (the league's) rules"

January 6, 201115 yr So the NKYFL will give me $25.000 to start, and equipment? I'm interested. That 3/4 of the battle.
January 6, 201115 yr Ft.Thomas as you know doesn't have a team in the NKYFL. If kids from Ft.Thomas want to play in the NKYFL they are able to play for which ever team in Campbell Co. they want to. Their might be 5 or 6 kids from Ft.Thomas each year that go that route..Not a whole lot..

In my opinion, the arrogance of your league has finally caught up with you and your guys are scrambling to keep the league afloat (at least the senior division). I could be wrong but I think parents in Northern Kentucky are tired of dealing with you guys. Tired of paying so much money to watch their kids sit on the bench. At least in the Middle school league they have a 5th quarter. Your league should have worried about developing kids for high should many years ago instead of worrying about who wins the super bowl so that the silly coaches could sit around in the off season and tell themself how great of coaches they were the past season. Many moons ago I played in the league and since then have volunteered many hours to the league; however, I saw was what going on and got out. Personally, I hope the whole league fails. You guys have been doing it wrong for a long long time. Again, this is just my opinion.
