Franzen has been out the entire year, broken collar bone in football, Kennedy was hurt and was out more than half of the Cooper game, then hurt again in the Bracken game and was out half or more of that game. I don't know how many games he will be out now. For Graff, anyone who has played with a face mask knows how it limits your vision. It did mine, lets just say a "few" years ago. CCH is still a tough match up for the Camels, even at full strength. I think a little reality check never hurt anyone, and the Camels got theirs last night. Hopefully they will learn and move on. Nice win For the Colonels.

The Camels were just outmatched last night. Not a knock on them as they are having a good year and have a very good team but they took a 34 point loss. It happens. Just dust yourself off watch the film and learn and move on. No excuses needed.

No excuses from the Camels. They were outplayed by the Colonels last night. I did take offense to a Colonel fan suggesting that it could have been a 50 point loss. Therefore, I felt it appropriate to point out that last night's Camels roster was not at full strength.

Let's hope these two teams meet somewhere down the road this season, now that would make both teams very happy.

Well, traditionally the Blue Colonels have always been referred to as the 'Big Colonels' and the Red Colonels referred to as the 'Little Colonels' so it looks like this year is no different.

It is comments like this that cause my despise of the Colonels. I wish the Camels would have been at full strength last night. Unfortunately, they were not and the Colonels capitalized on it. Nothing more, nothing less.

 

Saying it should have been a 40 point game does nothing but spit in the eyes of the Camels who did play and played their hearts out.

 

Too bad these two teams do not play later in the season. I think the result would be much different.

 

Don't hate (unless it's directed toward Highlands...). Cov. Cath fans have had a bit of a lean period and are excited to get back to winning ways. I don't think any disrespect was meant to the Camels. Just one of those nights. The Camels are going to be a tough out by the end of the year. McGovney and Losey are studs and are fun to watch.

If you're going to like/dislike a team/school because of the actions of their fans/students then CCH should be everyones favorite team. CCH has very strict rules for their students and players. If a student steps out of line then the administration is quick to put them back in line! It is almost sickening to hear of a 15 year old kid getting threatened in a public place because he is wearing a CCH shirt (and yes this happens very often). It is horrible when a CCH fan is refused food at another school feild because they are a CCH fan (and yes this has personally happened to me). To hate CCH is nothing but out of jealousy. TO hate a Catholic school that does nothing but strive to help its students and the community is nothing but crazy!

Have to agree with Clyde on this one Charlie! Afi100guy is a huge Campbell County fan and well he should be but he is a fair fan and one who dishes out the complements when they are deserved to the other team. Enjoy the ride and lets leave the bravado and trash talking to the other teams and their fans! We are CovCath and we don't need to act as such!

I went on vacation out West, glad to see you missed me. Do not worry I will get caught up after the Holidays. Merry Christmas to all of my fans.

Several things led to the Camels' demise in addition to the injuries to Kennedy and Graf.

 

1) The Camels, knowing they had match up problems came out in a 2-3 zone.

It was a gamble and came up snake-eyes. Before they knew what hit them it was 21-7.

2) The Camels failed to defend simple circle cuts from the Colonel bigs. They shot 62% from the field because CovCath bigs were shooting uncontested point-blank shots.

3). The Camels were uninspired when they went from zone to man in the first half - a typical side-effect of standing in a zone.

4) The Camels came out very inspired in the third quarter and all of the springs flew out for the Colonels who completely got away from what they were doing in the first half, and started turning the ball over. They actually cut it to 11 at 50-39 before the Colonels righted the ship and pulled away.

5) The Camels were visibly fatigued in the fourth quarter and failed to perservere. It was at this point that the Colonels could have really poured it on had they chosen to do so.

 

IF Coach Russell had it to do over again, I'm sure he would have employeed his third quarter strategy in the first quarter and not spotted the home team a 14 points lead. What is, is. While I think that this is a really good CovCath team. In this particular game, I don't feel as though the Colonels are 34 points better than the Camels, and the Camels are surely not 34 points inferior to the Colonels.
