December 13, 201015 yr Another thread on announcers/commentators got me thinking. Who are your favorites and who do you think is the best ever? My favorites today (in no certain order) are Dick Vitale, Bobby Knight and Jimmy Dykes. I am sure that there are ones that I haven't thought of. Best of All time.....Al McGuire, Cawood Ledford, Jim Valvano
December 13, 201015 yr Did you mean announcer or broadcaster? PA announcer, the guy who was the PA announcer at Freedom Hall for years. Sorry don't remember his name. He called most of the Sweet 16 games at FH as well. Broadcaster, Gus Johnson
December 13, 201015 yr Another thread on announcers/commentators got me thinking. Who are your favorites and who do you think is the best ever? My favorites today (in no certain order) are Dick Vitale, Bobby Knight and Jimmy Dykes. While the first two are controversial, the last one leaves me dumbfounded. Seriously? Violent cuts? Covers so much ground in two dribbles? I slept on Adolf Rupp's couch? You want to take shots from the free throw line, at the rim, and the extended lane? You don't want to turn the ball over on your half of the court? Really?
December 13, 201015 yr PBP - Gus Color - Jay Bilas Far and away the best two in the business. :thumb:
