I know JC will be also just a typing error. My mistake.

Didn't know that, good to hear the rivalry may continue. Always tough games.

Come on, guys ... Christian County is a quality team that laid an egg. It certainly doesn't mean they they stink.

Bowling Green nearly beat Trinity this season. Christian County and Warren Central beat Bowling Green. You're going to tell that those teams aren't that good, just because of one 5A game out of hundreds this season?

Trinity was down to there 3rd string qb for the game if I remember right.
Why not work on the pass routes also? JC was an excellent team again this year, but their lack of ability to strike quickly with the passing game doomed them. Harlan was similar. I have a ton of respect for the JC program, but how long do you stick with a philosophy that appears only good enough to get you to number 2?
We constantly here this from teams down state or up north, but why don't you look at it from JC's stand point. Do you realize that JC started five sophomores and two freshman against HHS. There was only a total of MAYBE 20 kids who saw the field in that game. We had two kids on the entire team that ran a sub 4.7 forty and probably antother four that ran a sub 5.0 forty? Why in the world would JC try to get into a track meet with HHS. JC plays with alot of heart and exacuted a perfect game plan to give them the best chance of winning. JC proved they could pas at oportune times but lets get real if they throw it over 15 times a game they are just like the other teams that HHS destroy on a regular basis (overmatched). Make no mistake this was not JC's only chance to beat HHS. The gap is closing and they will not beat us forever. As for now it sems JC has the only game plan that could beat HHS, very simular to what Ryle was able to do this year. Until JC gets about 15 or 20 sub 4.7 guys we will just get stronger, work on our speed, watch alot of film and keep getting better.

Solid post. The only thing I would add is that against Ryle, although they don't pass often, Highlands still had to respect the possibility they would. If JC could throw the ball consistently even a little bit, it would force teams to respect that & not stack the box so often against the run. A good passing game is not just about speed - a long game maybe, but short to mid is about route running, timing & accuracy (IMO).

Please don't think I'm harping on your program. The two playoff games at your place the past few years have been some of my favorite, and I was bummed to hear we're in different classes next year. The atmosphere in Paintsville is awesome, to say nothing of the football! :thumb:

NCC beat both of the teams tied for third in 5A this year

Johnson Central is in 4A with Highlands next year. Their district will meet Highlands' district in the first three rounds. The "rivalry" will continue.

Awesome. Thanks for the correction - I was confusing with Harlan. 4A playoffs should be fun next year!

I always get a kick out of people taking a great team from one level and saying they could win at the next level. I know Highlands freshman team was great but freshmen are a long way from varsity. If you are having fun and hyping the freshman team, more power to you. If you truly think the freshman team would even go .500 on the varsity level, try again.

Try playing the team that finished first and then you will have something to brag about.

Its a joke, man, just a joke.... Just giving props to a great ball club. That's all...:ylsuper:

VOR , I agree with you ! Sometimes the cool-aid mix (blue) is made a little too strong , or sometimes fans just drink too much , it happens to all of us at one time or another . When this happens I just kick back and smile and let them have their fun , after all , they aren't hurting anyone.
