Stinkyboy must be falling asleep at the wheel.

Highlands 6th lost to Tichenor by about 12 points last night. The 7th grade team won 64-37 to improve to 4-1 with a very tough matchup tonight against Gray. The 8th grade team struggled mightily last night against Tichenor in which they scored less than 30 points for the game.

As mentioned in the previous post the Birds travel to Gray tonight and then host Camp Ernst tomorrow.

Got the big boy Moss tonight. I have heard he has gotten much better over the summer..Should be a battle with Moss vs Hebel..

Question will be who has the better supporting cast tonight. Moss and Hebel squared off two weeks ago at SOAS and it looked like they were the last two standing after a battle royal. Very physical matchup of two big boys.

:lol:I hear the 7th grade team has picked up a great assistant coach and that he makes a big difference in the teaching of the game!!!!!!!

That lasted one whole game. It was determined by the powers-that-be that a first year coach handling 15 boys at practice and games is better than having a parent get involved and help out the program. Sometimes the decisions that are made by our school systems leave me scratching my head.

Stinkyboy must be falling asleep at the wheel.

Not asleep at the wheel at all. I would love to read about the many middle school programs around N Ky. Last weeks thread contained a total of 3 posts, 2 by me. I decided if there is no interest, I would not continue the threads.

Secondly, HMS 8th grade played so poorly last night I have little to say. Tichenor out hustled, out physicaled, out pushed, shoved and grabbed the Birds for 4 qtrs. The passive Birds sat back and let it happen. Birds had 3 field goals total in the first half ( 1 off an air ball stick back and 1 off an errand inbound under the basket). They will play better tonight against Gray, they surely can't play any worse.

Last night Newport at IHM. I don't have the scores, but Newport 7th beat IHM, and IHM 8th beat Newport 8th. Neither games were very close.

Also "heard" that IHM 7th girls played AT Newport. IHM won by 2. It got ugly at the end, and cops were called to escort out he IHM girls/coaches/parents. Pretty sure that IHM 8th girls played after and won.

You want some entertainment check out the sixth grade group; the magician had some double pump free throws and I need a morphine pump. The state of the bball program is on life support:cry:

Gray boys play at Newport tomorrow. . . Hopefully no police will be needed! Their 7th graders beat Highlands tonight.

Gray girls swept Highland girls all three games. Gray 6th and 7th grade teams are both 9-0. No close games really.

That's rediculous! It's a kids game and if the parents/coaches can't realize that then they need to stay at home. Let the kids have fun!

Who won the HMS vs Gray games tonight?

The 6th grade team was defeated rather soundly by about 20. The 7th grade game was a good one and the final score ended up 50-43 Gray. Tight game the entire way. Scoreboard said 52-43, but I did not know there were 4 point baskets in a game. The 8th grade team was defeated again by 4 points.

Is his dad Gene Hebel? If so, I can remember him when he was running around as a little guy. Papa Hebel works out at Newport Fitworks and despite being "old" is still pretty rocked up.
