December to remember!

Featured Replies

Going to try to lose 15 lbs in December and then follow it up with an additional 15 by March. I've never ever set a goal for weight loss or even tried to lose weight. This is my first attempt and should be interesting.

I become combative or irrational(more than usual) next month this is why.

I'm willing to try with you, if you might want some company in this.

The more the marrier. This is my first time. I think alot of people think I'm kidding when I tell them this because I guess I look like I'm in ok shape but 214 is the heaviest I've ever been. I need to get into running shape and just start being healthier over all.

I am in I go to the gym 3 days a week but I never watch what I eat. I am right at 200 pounds I need to get to 170 or lower.

You fooled me if you weigh 214, if so I agree that your fat butt needs to get to work.

It's hidden in all of the wrong places. Someone else said the same thing and I said believe me, you don't look at me in the mirror every day when I get out of the shower. Would've loved to have weighed 215 back during football though.:taz:

I am with you, I am starting P90x on Monday!!

From 196 to 155 (mid-April to late September). From my perspective, the two major factors in my personal weight loss are: 1) Drink only water & 2) Exercise at least 1/2 an hour every day, 7 days a week. Have been able to maintain that weight, while eating pretty much whatever I want, over the last two months. I credit the water & exercise for about 80% of that.

Effective dieting is like saving money...consistency over a long period of time will reap very positive results.

Are you in NKY? I think you are. Go to WieFit in Newport they are awesome at doing what "diet" you need to do.

I am in NKY, thanks for the advice, I know what I need to do though. I've coached/assisted/helped many people in getting in shape when they're looking for advice etc.... I'm often times the person that co-workers/friends come to for advice but I've let myself go the past couple years(committed relationship) and while I'm not completely out of shape I'm not in the best of shape so to speak. I just know that if I keep this path up it won't end in me looking the way I'm used to. My focus will be soley on cardio to start out, and some light toning weights.

I've been back in the gym for about a month and got the bench back up around 300 but being able to bench 300+ when you can't run over a mile doesn't really mean much.

So I've been eating better thus far. Protein shake for breakfast with a banana of special k bar. Fruit and a small sandwich for lunch and then whatever I can come up with that's healthy for dinner. Haven't drank any alcohol throughout the week and so far so good.

I'm trying to lose 15 by the start of next semester, so like right around January 10th.
