I don't believe there is a next step for UK, I think it's time the UK fans accept that. If we don't accept that we will only take steps back by over reaching...

I think when a program accepts that, they may as well not play.

 

I agree, I'm not saying they should quit trying, but that we as fans should enjoy where UK is currently at. There is no reason to believe that better days are ahead...

For every team that breaks through to the next level there are 10 that don't. If you think UK has nowhere to go but up then great for you, I'm 30 and the last 4 years have been the best I've ever seen for UK, why expect more...

I understand your point completely. I'm 29 and I'm in the exact same boat. But to just say this is the best we can ever hope for from Kentucky seems defeatist. I'm not sure if Kentucky will ever reach the heights of some of those that I mentioned, but to just not even try wouldn't be fair.

It's UK's job to try and convince me that the "best is yet to come", for me they haven’t done that. So for now I’m going to enjoy 6-6 and 7-5 until they do...

If they played an annual home-and-home with someone like Illinois or Virginia or Texas Tech would it appear that they are trying to get to the "best is yet to come?" For me personally, I would prefer to see that instead of their current scheduling practice, which generates 6-6 records and lower-tier bowl games as it is.

Maybe, I'm just not in a very positive mood when it comes to UK football right now. The only thing I know for sure is I'm tired of 26 strait and 24 strait, ending that is the next step as far as I'm concerned. Until they show they can contend with UT, UF, SC and UGA I just want them to get 6 wins wherever they can...

After UK lost today, I don't know when they will beat Tennessee again, if ever. Tennessee is only going to get better after this season.

Just made it back from the game, and I'm :puke: of Rocky Top. Must say the UT fans around me where very nice and we had a great time for the entire game.

Joker doesn't have the guts to go for it with the Liberty Bowl on the line.

I was at the game, about the second quarter I realized that no matter how bad the SEC east is or how down UT is. A bad UT and low East is better than a good UK team. UK played a weak schedule and that is the reason they are going bowling. Personally I'm not a Joker fan, never have been but I think that a coach needs 3 or 4 years to work with their players, however I will stick to my guns and say that when Brooks left UK was attractive enough to get a proven coach. The SEC will not be down next year so Operation win better schedule some bottom feeders next season.

The single biggest thing that has me hacked off is Joker choosing not to go for it on 4th and 2 at the UT 38, early in the 4th quarter, down 7.

To put the game in the defense's hands at that stage just blows me away. You play to win the game. What do you have to lose?

6-6 regular season, and it for the most part has been a failure.

No leadership exhibited anywhere this year.

Hartline, goes out like he came in, throwing a player under the bus. He essentially said it was Locke's fault on the bumbled handoff inside the 5 yard line. Said they had changed the play earlier in the week and that Locke missed practice on Thursday and that Locke went wider than he was supposed to. He tried to end it by saying it was both of their faults, but damage done IMO.

A lot of blame to go around, from missed passes, to turnovers, to failure to even cover the smash route over and over....

The season is done, they are looking at Birmingham or Detroit. Two places essentially the players dont want to be at.

Load up on their opponent, because they are done, soon will follow finger-pointing.

Players are already talking about the draft....sidenote Cobb is gone.

You pretty well summed it up Labs. I was taught it is the QB's job to get the ball to a RB on a stretch play. After a great year by Hartline standards he reverts back. They even blamed the late interception on the WR. Couldn't be the QB's fault.... Terrible special teams along with pathetic Defense, especially the pass coverage. They are all bad, the DB's that is. Biggest concern was that Joker flat out got out-coached, period. UT played to win. Sad. And no, UK doesn't deserve a Bowl game.

Oh, And Winston Guy is terrible. Along with the rest, but I got tired of those great announcers telling us how great he was. Thanks for the info Andre, NOT!

I thought the play call on the fumble was terrible. First down on the one and one run a stretch play, WHY!!! The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Line up and smash them in the month. Where was the FB. Just a terrible call on first down. If they stop you twice then I might see that call on third down. The game ended for UK on that play and yes Guy was terrible.
