I understand perfectly. I can't stand to see food wasted like that either, and trust me, my plates is ALWAYS clean when I'm done. Just give me the directions to your restaurant, and spindoc, Ram, and myself will make a trip, and show you just how well we eat. :D

I run a family restaurant.I have been doing this at the same location for over 18 years.We have a breakfast,lunch and dinner buffet.It pains me to see how much food people waste everyday.Those people should be ashamed of themselves,because of all of the people/children that go hungry in this world everyday.I take pride in what I do and I want to give the customer the best service and food for their money.

 

I just think that if someone eats from the buffet they should only take what they can eat.They can always go back if they need more.Sorry for the rant,I just had one of my dishwashers show me a bus pan that had 17 slices of bacon in it,that came from one table.A party of three!:irked:

You are WELL AWARE of my thoughts on this issue.:thumb: I've always loved the breakfast buffet at your place, but it really gets under my skin when I'm out there and witness all of the abuses that occur. Speaking of bacon, another bacon pet peeve I have is when someone scoops up the entire tray of bacon remaining on the buffet (sometimes 20 or 30 slices) while others are waiting in line behind the perp to get their turn at taking a few slices. It happens often.

I dunno Admiral, America's the most obese country in the world so apparently we're not wasting too much food......

Gluttony vs Alcohol consumption.

 

I know that in my neck of the woods all preachers teach against any kind of alcohol consumption.I know alot of these same preachers are over weight from over eating.The busiest day of the week for me is Sunday's after church.Isn't gluttony a sin?So is drinking alchohol in excess.

 

First of I am not trying to judge or point a finger at anyone.I am guilty of both.:isurrender:

 

About a year ago Danville went wet and there was a big uproar from the no voters that are mainly from the Christian Churches.The no voters are against the sale of Alcohol in restaurants and package liquor stores.

I want to know why this same group opens their arms wide open for a restaurant like mine that has a All you can eat buffet?Which promotes gluttony!:confused:

 

Can someone explain why Gluttony is accepted by some of the ones who do not accept alcohol period?

America is the most over weight country in the world.Seems like more preachers would teach/preach more about moderation than the evils of alcohol.

Yea I man I know how you feel about this.Heck your one of us.Your in this family business as much as I am if not more!:thumb:And If I had more customers like you I wouldn't be feeling as much pain!

I've seen some buffets post signs stating in order to keep food costs down, please take from the buffet only what you will eat. Granted, it's not a gun to their head but just a friendly reminder.

 

Someone told me that proberly one day the government will makes us post pictures on the buffet of people who are obese or have diabetes.Just like the ones the government is making the tabacco companys put on packs of cigarettes of people dying from lung diease.

Get rid of the buffet man. All you are doing is promoting waste and obesity with those things. If that is what keeps money in your pocket and food in your familiy's mouth then I understand but IMO that is what is wrong with society. We have buffet's where people think they need to get their "money's worth" and they overeat or take too much food. Overeating is the biggest cause of obesity and if our portion sizes were served smaller and at a higher doller amount then maybe we would think twice about overdoing it. I am a huge abuser of the portions offered and given to me.

Agree with you 100% AA. I'm always the person that say if somone orders a pizza and there is 2 pieces left, I will finish it no matter how full I am. I usually never let food go to waste, and it always kills me when I see food wasted at buffets.

I agree 100%, take some responsiblity. Buffet's don't make people fat, people do. We already have enough restrictions, legislations, etc in our lives. People just need to be more considerate.

Maka new policy, when thyey get their bill and their is still an unreasonable amount of food still on their plates (like 17 strips of bacon at a table of 3), you will charge them $1-2 per person extra.
