I don't think the kids care if a school board member or school administrator is at the game or not. It was important to me that my family be there and other than than I couldn't have cared less. As a former player and a fan my wish for the board of ed and administration is that they support the program with adequate funds and proper decisions. Including but not limited to hiring a good quality coach that instills discipline and work ethic and staying the heck out of their way on football decisions. If those things happen along with the new stadium and I think things have gotten better there will be enough people there cheering for a winner that it won't matter what board members or principals are there.

So when the Administration goes and pick what sports they will watch and shake what senior hands they want on senior night, you do not think that someone cares? The Administration is paid to attend those games by the Contract that they have. I agree facilities are needed but, support needs to be for all organizations, not what they choose to support. All programs need to be treated fairly.

If you are so upset, may I suggest that you share your comments with the administration (Mr. Strong, Mrs. Boots, CCS Board Members, etc.)? Despite what you may believe, these are reasonable people that care about what you think and care about the success of CCS students and athletes.

I disagree. Kids make comments now a days. They know what is going on and they also see a lot of people judging what is going on when they do not come and support their sports. It is not all about shaking hands and kissing babies.

 

I do agree with Clyde on one thing and that is the coach showing interest in them and trying to get this back to Coach Styer he 100% did this. He was a great coach and great person for those kids.

I would agree that teachers and students are doing better. But saying administration has nothing to do with the improvement is like saying a head coach and staff have nothing to do with wins and losses.

 

 

 

 

He wasn't just talking about showing up at the games. Its the way they run things in our school district. Ok, the academic scores are better but you are going to give Strong and the administration credit for that? C'mon, that is a joke. The scores are better due to state influence, teachers and students; not the administration and principals. If you only knew some of the stuff that goes on behind closed doors with the Campbell County School board and within the schools, you would be shocked. As far as UKFan's statement on the school board member who's kids go to be Beechwood, she should be let go. How can you make decisions about "our" school system when it isn't even good enough for your kids. She is just upset because her lawsuit last year didn't have any merit.

I think kids like knowing they are supported by staff.

Odd statement............................Nobody is paid to attend games and it certainly is not in anybodys contract. You know I saw both Mr. Strong and Mrs. Wilson at the baseball districts last year and they both had meetings right after school and that night and both came down to watch the baseball game in between the two meetings. Quite frankly that says a lot to their commitment.

Quit sugar coating for the Administration, there are eight plus employess that make over 100,000 grand year at Central Office. If they can not take time out to go to an Athletic Event than shame of them. The Prncipal Ms. Boots rarely attends anything extra curricular besides football. Did Strong and Wilson attend the Girl's Softball Districts, I doubt it? Strong I heard finallly showed up at the State Track Meet last year to watch the girls's win the State, before that he was not at one meet, and I was told the Ms Boots has never attended a track meet. We are talking State Champions and no Principal was there. Does she attend the State Wrestling meet? What other Athletic Events has she showed her face? Support your students is more than sitting in your office each day and not interacting with your Students in all of their events. Ask her daughters, how many Quick Recall matches she has come to see her daughters perform. This is pathetic when you can not even support your own kids, so why support your Student Athletes?

Well.............I would not say I am sugar coating for the administration and quite frankly I do NOT think they do a good job with the athletics at all as far as getting the right people in, etc. I also think their is way too much coaching turnover to ever really get a program developed where it should be. With that said I also am not going to bash them when I have witnessed them at events. I do nto follow them around and track what they go to nor do I care. I will say I would NOT want my kids involved in athletics at Campbell County because of the turnover and other issues I have witnessed in the athletics dept. over the past several years. Fortunately I do not have to worry about that..........

And actually I would not know Mrs. Boots if she were standing in front of me so maybe she was at events I have attended and I would not be aware.

For the record, Mr. Strong and Mrs. Wilson were both in attendance at the first boys and girls basketball games last night against Silver Grove.
