Why risk injury where there has already been so much trouble? I would think the weight room would be a better investment. I have to believe that someone at the next level will take a real strong look at this young man for football.

Last year I had Cincinnati Bengal starting OG Nate Livings (6-5 325lbs) come up to NewCath and speak to some students. After his talk we went to the weight room so he could speak to the football team. Big Jack came in and was standing next to Nate, Nate looks UP at Jack and asked how tall, how much he weighed, & what grade he was in. After Jack responded 6-10, 350, & junior class, Nate says, "if only I was that size when I was a junior". Nate also added that there is a school out there that will work with a kid with that size.

I grew up across the street from Jack over on West Villa in Ft. Thomas.

 

When he was younger and a 6'5-6'6 7th and 8th grader he played basketball, but I don't think he's played since his frosh or soph year.

 

I've heard he may come out this year as well, but he'll likely just be a big body. As already stated, not exactly the lateral quickness that you look for on the hardwood. He has improved tremendously over the years though in football.

 

Newcath's other big o-lineman, 6'7 Jake Geisler. was nominated pre-season 9th region player of the year by the coaches. He averaged 13 ppg and 8 rpg last year and was 60% from the field. Great athlete who also plays D-end.

With that said, this Redhound team has more heart and determination than any school or any sport I have watched and I think that will lead the Hounds past Breds for a shot at the 2A title!

This Corbin team plays with tremendous effort...They have a solid chance to win this game. I saw some film on NCC and the two bigger kids are pretty solid linemen, but #50 is the best all around OL for NCC and 73 on the DL IMHO. The two big boys will dominate if they get hands on you, but if Corbin's DL is not playing gap control and stunting they will be hard for NCC to handle. I love the effort Corbin plays with! The QB is the biggest threat for NCC; their RB's are solid as well with #3 being the best of the bunch and a solid LB. If the Hounds score 28 they have a great shot at winning this game.

I will tell you this, the players from NewCath know what to expect. They were very impressed w/ the speed of Corbin from films. They were also very impressed w/ the tenacity of their defense. It will be a battle for sure.
