November 11, 201015 yr If one is forced to provide money via a lawsut loss, is that still considered giving? I would say no. I think you quoted the wrong person.
November 11, 201015 yr I think Saban could have handled the Miami situation better but it's a tough spot to be in. You can't say you are interested and you shouldn't say you aren't. You side step it and move on if you truly interested and you make sure your boss knows where you stand. I believe to be in the catagory of scum you need to do a little more then tick off some fan base.
November 11, 201015 yr I know a guy in the Ole Miss compliance office that's really close with a Alabam compliance officer and he said the Bama officer had told him that once Nick Saban went off on a janitor who was changing some light bulbs in the office because "You don't speak to Coach Saban, unless spoken to." The guy I know vouched to the validity of this story and he isn't the type to tell lies just to talk either so I believe it.

November 12, 201015 yr Ok, I'm done talking Bama on this site, to bring this up like this is sad, I'm really disappointed. I mentioned Coach Cal and Coach Pitino (now) leaving jobs and whats the difference? No one answered my questions about why he left Miami, or other jobs, So from now on I will not comment on Bama again on here. I will on other teams becaue I love College football, but I believe some folks want to be hurtful to me and thats what I feel in my heart, and it makes me sad. Infact I'll reduced my comments on the whole site. Thanks for the true fans, who liked to discuss and even debate with me, I will not be back on Bama. I'll change my picture (can't spell avatar). mama saw this post and agreed, "they just want to be mean to you."
November 12, 201015 yr Timing out on me, I will not run to the Guru and say anything, not my style, I'm a grown man. If some of you dislike me that much and I've done something to you, thats not my nature. Being from Alabama and having two sons named after Coach Bryant, well I do take it maybe too serious. Its a shame I feel this way, but its not worth it. Now to the Bama cave and watch the Falcons and the Office, I love this show. I'll spend more time on Bible topics, so this might be a Holy Spirit thing, Good Bye. :idunno:

There was a discussion about the topic on another thread, and rightly the mods told us to stop talking about it on that thread and start a new one if we wanted to discuss the topic. I didn't think everyone was done saying what they had to say so I made this thread. Obviously some think he is scum for the way he has left his jobs, no one said that he couldn't change jobs because everyone does that at some point. Just because we don't agree with your point of view on Saban doesn't mean that we don't like you or we are just trying to pick on you. At least that is not my intent.
November 12, 201015 yr Not scum. Compare what he did with what Bobby Petrino did to Louisville and Atlanta, and Saban lookes like a saint.
November 12, 201015 yr Not scum. Compare what he did with what Bobby Petrino did to Louisville and Atlanta, and Saban lookes like a saint. I don't really remember his Louisville exit as much, but his Atlanta one is of epic nature.
November 12, 201015 yr Author I don't really remember his Louisville exit as much, but his Atlanta one is of epic nature. How about the year before he left U of L and he went on a secret plane to Auburn? Ah, maybe that says more about Auburn's athletic department. Is Saban more scum for lying about a job than Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly and other coaches (Jimmy Johnson, Erickson) for allowing their players to get away with anything? Is he more scum than the coaches who have been caught cheating by paying players, changing grades or things like that like Butch Davis and Co.? Bigger scum than Brian Kelly? Or are most coaches in the college and professional ranks just at a different standard, that they have to be scum to succeed? Pete Carroll is a model of charity and seems like one of the nicest men in the world, but he let Bush be paid along with who knows what else at USC. Does he qualify as well?

November 12, 201015 yr I'll say this the Alabama pre-season special seems like self-promotion because Saban also has new coaching material coming out. How is it different from "Blue Dawn" with calipari?
November 13, 201015 yr Author How is it different from "Blue Dawn" with calipari? Cal had a one week promotional on ESPN for that? And I've never said that I thought Cal did or didn't think highly of himself in the first place. Make it all relative though if you must.
November 13, 201015 yr Cal had a one week promotional on ESPN for that? And I've never said that I thought Cal did or didn't think highly of himself in the first place. Make it all relative though if you must. Callin' it like I see it. I didn't see the John Calipari...Scum or Not Scum? thread. I think it is funny how you call out one coach for a preview about his team, but one don't call out your coach for a DVD about his first season as UK coach... You also called out Coach Saban for leaving for other jobs, but didn't call out your coach for leaving schools on probation... Edited November 13, 201015 yr by KY Thorobred
