No one plays worse in big games than Dixie. HHS by BIG!!!!!!!

Dixie needs to do a couple things in order to keep this game close. Defensively, they need to keep the receivers in front of them. They cannot give up the deep ball. Offensively, they need to chew up the clock by taking the 3 to 4 yard passes, and not force the ball down the field. The also need to play with confidence, which is something they struggle with when playing Highlands. Typically, over half of the kids look intimidated before anyone kicks off, and that cannot happen.

Highlands will be Highlands. Blubirds win.

This ? is for all the Dixie folks. Why would you not move Cohorn to RB pound the ball up the middle run straight at the Birds speed you are not going to run outside on them. Bruns is very fast but he is just to small to carry the ball 20-30 times up the middle. Going back to the Ryle game and I'm not saying anyone on Dixie is Elliot but they ran right at the speed of the birds defense no sucess outside. Ball control is the only shot you have of beating Highlands.I just think there going to try and run Pike way to much and than there going to have to force throws. Dixie db's better get alot of work at practice this week or its going to be ugly real quick. Highlands wins big.

I would expect the Colonels to try and play a possession game and utilize their big lineman. Pike is a big kid and good runner but I dont think he has the stamina to carry the ball more than 10 times and play on the defensive side of the ball.

 

Highlands will likely blitz a lot and force Pike to stay in the pocket, it seemed to work last time.

 

I think the Colonels will be hungry but playing at DCM in November is no easy task, just ask the countless teams that have tried to win there over the past several seasons.

Dixie will have a stronger showing than in the first match-up, but Highlands will prevail. Pulling out a "W" in Gotham City is extremely hard to do.

You are right, they sent their 3 lineman and attacked the edges but I wouldnt be surprised if they dont blitz a little to keep him from having so much time to throw. Last game he had entirely too much time.

This HHS team hasn't blitzed as much as in years past for some reason? Pike did have way to much time last game..I guess we'll have to wait and see what Weiney has in store for the Red Colonels..

They used to abuse that play, and still do at times. That and the bubble screen, but they have gotten away from that since Brossart took over the offense.

When you are a faster team than that play works a lot. But when you play a team with more team speed not so much..

As for Pike having too much time to pass in the last game as a result of Highlands not blitzing, Dixie did only score 14 points, didn't they? It's not like Dixie rang up 40 points via Pike's passing. And he only had 140 yards passing. No offense guys, but sometimes you make me shake my head and wonder.
