Because the White House would never lie...:lol: Personally, I couldn't care less how much the trip costs as long as the purpose of the trip is successful. However,since neither side is giving anything to support their claims of the cost, we really can't take either at their word.

November 5, 201015 yr Just reading an article on this. A few things caught my attention: The White House does not release travel costs for the president. The Secret Service has apparently asked them not to give any indication on what they may or may not spend on protection when going abroad. So this figure of $200 million per day really was conjured up seemingly out of nothing. The trip to India is only part of a larger 10-day trip to Asia. In addition to his meetings with leaders in India, he'll be attending the G-20 summit in Seoul. The G-20 is comprised of the leaders of 20 major nations; these countries account for 85 percent of all global trade. India is also a member. There is a lot to be done during this trip. That is a crucial point. The President is obligated to make this Asian trip. It seems to make a lot of sense to me to go ahead and add on the India leg of the trip. Our economy needs help any way it can get it and as others have said, India's potential is as great as China's.

November 5, 201015 yr Again I go back to the fact that this entire story was started by some guy in India who has no clue. So either he's making it up or someone fed him some bad info. And, remember, if Rep. Michelle Bachmann is quoted and acts as if it's true you can usually run to the bank and place all of your cash on the exact opposite.

Plus this just shows how partisan the public is! That some nobody in India can throw out a figure and people just believe it, WITHOUT THINKING OR CHECKING FACTS! As stated before, the entire war effort per day is less than the number this guy threw out, BUT people believed it! Or, they wanted to believe it! PLEASE, 30 something war ships? Do people not think when they hear garbage like this? Officials from both the Clinton and Bush administrations said the 200 million per day figure was not correct. I don't care who the president is, they need to travel, and they will continue, the cost of the travel goes with it! I don't care how much they travel or what the cost is, it worth it!
