I think Trinity is the team to beat without question. I also know that this is a game in which crazy things can happen. For example replay the 1991 4-A state championship. GRC not only upset trinity to go to the finals, but then beat St. X in the championship game. This was a team that was much smaller in numbers and hand most their players playing both ways. Not saying Trinity won't win it all, but if the stars are aligned just right there could be an upset. Who knows maybe Henry Clay's new high powered offense can stride at the right time, or Ryle show the NKY is for real. That my BGP friends is why we love high school football and the playoff system (just had to throw a punch at the BCS style lol).

 

Well stated. Plus, it will be different for this game being hosted up in these parts if the Raiders take care of business in Rounds 1-3. Lots to be said emotionally for homefield advantage.

Do you have any idea what GRC was ranked that year? We didn't move to Winchester till the next year. Man I wish I could have seen those games.

Looks like the 'Neers are getting just a bit closer each time. By my (admittedly fuzzy) math, things should even up somewhere around the year 2036.

If you would like to see the game Coach Columbia has it on film. We would watch it at the beginning of each season. I know for a fact he has the Trinity game.

75center, you have to understand that the bragging is being done by those who don't know and respect the game. I'm sure the real SK football competent fans know that they fall shortly behind Ryle and Trinity as a favorite to win state.

The Trinity program is a complete football machine that most NKY schools can't touch at this point, and that's why even the biggest NKY fan of their own team should favor them for the state title.
