Greg Kleete was Dayton's best player in football

 

I never saw him, but after playing against Jason, I have a hard time believing this. I personally got to take a free ride on his back for about 10 yards. He was a man amongst boys.

Jason Skirvin was the best N.KY high school running back not named Alexander in the last 20 years. As stated, an excellent official, but to top it off even a better person. Total class act. I really wish he was in coaching. He could have a great impact on many people.

 

Small schools are going to go through dry spells. Zach is a good guy and very knowledgeable.

I did see Skirvin play, and he was very, very good. Best running back not named Alexander was Justin Frisk at Highlands (IMO).

I think everyone has a soft spot for the river school programs. They're old school - right up there with the steel towns. Hard-nosed people playing hard-nosed football. Unfortunately, they've also declined over the past few decades like the steel towns. This is a tough subject to discuss without offending people, but there's no doubt that declining demographics have hurt the river school programs. I had a good talk recently with an alumni from one of the river schools. Within the past year he was asked back with other alumni for a celebration honoring an achievement of his graduating class, and was shocked at the behavior and lack of respect of the current players. And this guy is not that old - has a kid currently in high school. Maybe most telling is that his kid does not attend his alma mater.

The new Fischer Homes Subdivision off the Chateau Ridge Subdivision is the only subdivision that has any sort of tuition deal with the City of Fort Thomas. Fischer Homes like every other buider is trying to sell new homes. This an incentive they offer. Keep in mind another Fischer subdivision in the city limits of Fort Thomas is in the Campbell County district. Homes sell in this location better without this incentive. Fischer has a deal with the Dayton subdivision and Fort Thomas Schools to reduce tuition by 50% if they live in this subdivision. It is not City wide. Not many homes exist in this subdivsion. I am not certain, but I don't believe Highlands has any kids currently playing from this subdivision. I think they might have about 20 homes in this subdivision. Most kids from this area historically have gone to New Cath.

 

I also know that the first varsity job Walton's Jeff Barth applied for was the Dayton job. This was when Lickert left and before the Walton job was ever open. They decided to stay "in house". Just sayin'.......

 

You are wrong, the Quillen kid lives on a street that borders the flood wall close to Bellevue. This is not even close to Chateau Ridge.

Not sure of his exact custodial arrangements, but I am quite sure of the policy in Grant Park and that a similar arrangement is not City wide.

Started at CovCath but transferred, I know he played his Jr and Sr season at HHS, not sure about his sophomore season.

Same reason they need kids from Highland Hights Dixie Taylor Mill Silver Grove.
