I think you could put Beechwood into the majority of 1A District's in the state and have the same results. Also, I think that Brossart is a tough first round draw.

OK, Beechwood fans, let's all take a chill pill. This dominating run through the district has caused some delirium to set in. The facts are:

 

1. Beechwood is using other plays and backs as evidenced by the low number of carries by Vocke. A half dozen first team players have scored TD's in the first half during the district games on a wide variety of passing and running plays. God forbid Vocke gets hurt, but if he does the offense is well prepared to roll on. We may not see as many one play TD drives from 50+ yards without Vocke but the offense is looking very good.

 

2. To answer lawnboy's question above - when was the last time Beechwood was "SERIOUSLY" challenged in district since 6 class football started? The answer is last year. Bellevue was a serious challenger and pushed the Beechies to the limit last year. Bellevue was one of the top 10 teams in 1A last year and maybe as good as #5 last year with Buckler.

 

3. Concerning Beechwood's "weak" district, as others have said this is not a historically weak district. The district performs very well against other districts in the playoffs. The "weakness" in the district this year is the #2 team behind Beechwood looks to be weaker this year and that makes the district look weaker. I still think the district will perform well in the playoffs against other districts. I expect Walton Verona to win their first round playoff game and Bellevue and Brossart will play tough in the first round. They may not get wins but they will not be easy outs. IMO, this district's #4 seed this year will be the best #4 seed in the state and the #3 seed will be one of the best #3 seeds.

 

Now, let's all get focused on beating Bellevue Friday night at Beechwood. Bellevue seems to be back to playing Bellevue smash mouth football so let's see how the Beechwood Tigers man up on that challenge.

Hmmm, Thought this was a GAME thread.....

Didn't mean to get anyone's panties in a wad with my comical statement, but enjoyed "stirring the pot". Beechwood DOES play a tough non district schedule and they are a great program, but when have they been SERIOUSLY challenged in district play since NewCath moved to 2A.

 

Didn't Bellevue just beat them last year actually? Or at least Beechwood had a close game against them. The fact is you put Beechwood in any district in 1A and you will see them dominating their district. Even though Beechwood dominates this district, the other teams still do well in the playoffs against the other districts. Then they see Beechwood again or another #1 seed. So that is what people mean about getting your facts straight. This district as a whole is better than a lot of other districts in 1A and not the worst as you state.
