Good game by Chase Cox for by beechies tonight. Bringing back to the Mitchell

Nothing against Beechwood, but they play in the weakest district in the state. I mean come on, Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Walton, & Brossort this is Cupcake City. That would be like UK basketball playing in a conference with Beckfield College, Daymar, University of Phoenix, DeVry, & the Columbia School of Broadcasting.

 

Wow! You must not follow football much if you think that. That district use to be one of the toughest districts in the state, and usually does a good job of at least sending 3 teams to the 2nd round. The only problem is you never hear much about the other schools, because of Beechwood. They play in a district that has usually the top team in 1A.

Is Beechwood a top 5 NKY team? No, they are not. They'd lose to most schools in the area. But they should win the 1-A district 9 out of 10 years.

The only thing worth commenting on is this ... Cameron Vocke had 178 yards last night. ON SIX (6) (yes--thats 6) carries.

Not real sure how that is focusing on one player.

4 different players scored.

6 different players had runs of 40 yard or more in the first half.

(No disrespect to Brossart).

 

Much disrespect to buzzsaw and Fan In The Stands who need to check their facts.

All I am saying is; everyone knows what Vocke can do, especially against the weaker district opponents. You are correct he had six carries. beechwood starts every game the same, run Vocke, he makes big plays, and then they throw in some passing. This predictability of this team is going to hurt them against New Cath in a couple of weeks, and later in the playoffs. Why not start with Erdman, Nussbaum, and Staten in the running game a bit. BTW, the second half was just that, second string players. Not an option when your trying to win a close battle football game.

What game were you at last night (and you obviously were not at any other Beechwood games either)?

Probably not ... because you would have actually known how the game started out last night ... and it sure wasn't a run.

Also ... pretty sure that the last "battle" that Beechwood was in ... Nussbaum, Erdman, Colosimo, Smith, Brennan, and Staten all played significant roles.

Beechwood knows more about the tendencies of other teams AND THEIR SELVES than you could ever begin to imagine.

Which speaks to why, when, Beechwood plays teams that are better than they are ... everyone IS involved.

 

Again ... entire thread is laughable. Simply because .. if you have been to all the Beechwood games .. you would have an understanding of the fact that Beechwood has had a boatload of kids involved in ALL games. Not just the easy ones.

 

For real ... it would be great if people could post facts in conversations like this.

There doesn't seem to be a Chase Cox on Beechwood's roster...

I'm not sure what game you saw, but Beechwood did exactly what you suggested for most of the game?? They used several running backs and QB's, along with liberal substitutions at all positions. Vocke never saw the field that I remember in the second half, and BW tried several different wrinkles including a halfback pass, and passing all 3 downs at one point in the first half. The Tigers used this game (and I'm sure the last few) to work on some things that they will need down the road come playoff time. They could have easily pounded Vocke all night long and had him gain 400 yards, but they wisely worked with other kids; plus they have way too much class as a program to run the score up to pad some kid's stats!!

 

I didn't mean to strike a nerve SM. If you look at my post again, you should see that I was mostly asking some valid questions about all HS programs in general and not just Beechwood. I know one NKY team lost a close on last night because their feature RB went down and had he stayed in they would have most likely won big. Like it or not, it's a valid point. I am glad Beechwood did exactly what I suggested most of the game......must have been some good coaching. Again, look at my post, I did not accuse Beechwood of padding stats. I realize Beechwood is a class program. It was just a general question about all programs. Just remember the questions I asked come playoffs and see how many teams get eliminated because they lose their feature RB, or because they are predictable and/or one dimensional.

You really need to read my post again. Maybe try it not under the influence of whatever. What stats did I quote? What facts are you talking about? I asked questions. Questions about ALL programs. Back at ya on the disrespect. You must be a team statistician. Laughable.

Didn't mean to get anyone's panties in a wad with my comical statement, but enjoyed "stirring the pot". Beechwood DOES play a tough non district schedule and they are a great program, but when have they been SERIOUSLY challenged in district play since NewCath moved to 2A.
