Yes they have, the Football team even got to go on the new Soccer field, also that mud game NCC went to Holmes for free because they needed more than one date. Cov Cath a Catholic School was going to charge them 2000 for a day game no lights that is when I lost all respect for them.

 

Beggars can't be choosers. Should Covcath absorb all the costs and aggravation just because a sister school needs a field? You're going to ask them to use their field, want it for free, then complain they don't have lights? Wow!

I'm not saying Covcath or Highlands shouldn't work out a deal to let NewCath use the field. I just think saying $2000 is too much is inaccurate. Once the sister school(Covcath) or the Big Brother/(Highlands) agrees to let NewCath use the field, you have to have people from the host school to staff it. That's likely all volunteers who could care less about the Newcath game and really don't want to give up their time for free.

 

I think after closer examination $2000 is a bargain. That's only 400 people at an average of $5 a ticket to cover the costs. Surely you can draw at least that many no matter what team you play. NewCath keeps the rest of the gate above $2000, uses the field, beats some weak AA team, makes a profit. All the while your workers can enjoy the game because they don't have to work. The host school makes $2000 plus concession. The host is more likely to be able to get Boosters to work and clean up after the game. Win/Win for both schools.

Actually, I have a major issue with City of Newport charging them to play at Newport Stadium, I know NewCath is private in all but c'mon

I'm not a CovCath guy. CovCath isn't winning anything. I just see their point. Maybe $2000 is too much, but their is a number where everyone benefits and it's not the number of free. Covcath doesn't owe NCC the use of their field.

 

And AA is weak. Extremely weak. I root for all the local teams, but NewCath may not have even been Top 10 in N. Ky last year and they won state. Holmes was even better than NCC. That's not NCC's fault. Just the fact that 6 classes is too many.

The one that has won regions in Baseball and went to the region finials in Basketball, Football we just let Highlands beat them. Plus we only have 190 boys to your 580.

Still have no idea who you are talking about, but what about Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Track, Cross Country, Swimming, Bowling.....

Won the regional in 2011 runner up 2012 in Soccer, no Tennis Went to regional in golf, Track Girls won three straight state Champ. I will give you Cross County, no Swimming and Bowling third in Region. I think both Schools are great, my point was a good Catholic School should have helped out the other Catholic School that was in need.
