As it has been pointed out many times before, Highlands does not even get every good football player from Ft. Thomas. Quite a few go to Newport Central Catholic. It would be interesting to see what Highlands would be like with all of the players from Ft. Thomas.

That is true, but he/she was specifically referring to Highlands. In specific, wondering how so many good football players come from such a small area. I was just pointing out that Highlands does not even get all of the players from that small area.

Yep, now that UKFan is out for awhile, I'm glad that we have somebody filling the void.

 

Highlands will obviously win this game. However, CovCath has two running backs that can really scoot, I'm talking Bruns of Dixie fast. They can break it at any time, so there is a distinct possibity that this game will be 7-7 or 14-7 at some point in the first. However, CovCath's line is SLOWWWW and they are a very, very bad tackling team. If they could get their bigs to move equivalent to their backs, they could have something next year.

I put my vote in for the Colonels thinking I might be the only one. Didn't want the guys to feel totally abandoned. After casting my vote I clicked on the results. I wasn't expecting so much (or any) company. Oh well...what could go wrong??? :banana:

Could Covington Catholic lose and still salvage a "win"? If the game is much closer than poster's seem to predict, will some Highlands faithful be "bummed out"? Personally, I say a win is a win but almost everyone is predicting a blowout in Ft. Thomas.

Lighten up Francis. There has never been a unanimous poll. Some people just can't pull the trigger. Some people are die hards. And some people believe you have to play it out. It would not be the biggest upset ever. So I'm going to proudly vote for my Colonels!!!!!!

CCH should never be taken lightly by Highlands, and you are right that the game still has to be played out. However, if CCH beat Highlands at HHS this Friday I think it would be a huge, huge upset, in my opinion. Big upsets do happen in this rivalry, though. I remember a lot of people talking about how CCH was going to demolish Highlands in 2005, given how badly HHS had lost some of their games that year and also because Highlands had just barely sqeaked by a very mediocre South Oldham team that year. Plus, that game was at CCH. Somehow HHS pulled off the big upset and may very well have cost CCH a Class AAA state title that year (by forcing CCH to have to play eventual champ LexCath in Lexington instead of at CCH... CCH just barely lost to LexCath, who then went on to shut out HHS at HHS 17-0). You got to play the game, baby!
