Walton has obviously come strides since last season.

Bellevue, who defeated Newport is better than billed, so this has to be an extremely satisfying win for Walton-Verona who are quickly establishing themselves as the Number 2 team in the district.

 

Congratultions to the Bearcats!!!! Headaches for the rest of us.

 

I don't know about that. Anyone who saw that Newport vs. Bellevue game would say that Bellevue was very fortunate to get a win that night. Newport shot theirselves in the foot, and their starting middle linebacker, and also their starting nose guard didn't play that game. Bellevue is down this year, from what they have been. However for a new program like that to get a win over a team they have never beaten is a huge step. Something to be very proud of, and shows that the district in 1A is wide open this year besides Beechwood at top.

 

Congrats to Walton on a huge win, I have always been kind of a fan of Walton since they started because of Coach McMillen. I think he did a great job getting the program going, and the guy now is doing a great job keeping it going in the right direction.

This team has gotten better every week. They started off with a close win at Gallatin, then beat Berea by a couple of TD's. They played up against Grant in a tight game then a missed extra point costs them against a good Caroll County team. I thought that this Bellevue would be close.

Huge win. Have to say this is a big surprise to me. 1a will be very interesting this year. I owe an apology to The sarge, Walton is the real deal.

No apology needed. The team has been getting better and better every week. This week Qb Nolan Daughtery had a break through game. The line is where it all starts on both sides of the ball and now thats where Walton's strength is. In the past they just were not strong and phyiscal enough, now the are. The pieces are starting to come together but this week Beechwood looms.

Bellevue had a once in a decade type team last year that fell just short of Beechwood. Walton-Verona was the better team Friday night, which is a reflection of the type of players and staff put together in a short amount of time. Funny how late last year some posted the problem with Walton was they had "Just a middle school head coach." Evidently they knew very little of Coach Barth, his background, and abilities. Northern Kentucky is on alert, special things are happening under the bright lights in Verona, they are fun to watch. Tough test this week, but the Bearcats are a resilient bunch and definitely a team to be reckoned with in Single A.

This in no way shows that Belleview is a bad football team, it just shows how good Walton is. Belview should still finish high (top 4)in 1a.

Proud of these Bearcats , great game from the line to the skill positions . Glad to see the coach opening up the play book and using all his weapons. Remember that this bearcat group beat Bellevue as a J V squad 2 years ago three weeks in a row at Bellevue . These kids are starting to get it.

As I said in that thread Bellevue may not be slipping as much as people think but it could be more of other teams (WV and Brossart) are getting better and I think both of those teams made statements Friday night.
