My oldest son had it. He took one antibiotic after another. It would clear up while on the antibiotics but then quickly come back. After about a 6 months of doing that we went to a different doctor. Since it had been going on for 6 months he immediately put my son on an IV antibiotic proggram that was like 21 days long. That killed it.

You need to go through everything, I mean everything, in your bathroom. Razors, luffa sponges, hair brushes, combs, tweezers, cotton balls that have been exposed to air, hand towels that hang that you don't even use, absolutlely everything.

If it can be washed and sanitized - wash and sanitize it.

If it can't be washed and sanitized - throw it away.

Do the same thing in your bedroom. Change sheets and pillow cases everyday for a while. He also recommended putting the pillows in the dryer on high heat for 30 minutes every other day or so.

Take this seriously.

Well some of the swelling is going away a tad, they did a CAT scan and apparently the infection was getting close to my brain. Pretty terrifying!

I'm glad that you went in for treatment, as opposed to taking it lightly, as some suggested. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Keep us updated Rocket.

Good for you for getting care so quick.

Hope things get better for you Rocket.

On a side topic have any of you paid attention to the google ad in this thread. Google works off of word recognition and that stuff is nasty.

And no I am not suggesting anyone click on those ads, I am just pointing it out.

I had staph once, it went away fairly quickly. But make sure you keep taking your medicine as long as they tell you to.

In that case, the "please remove your bra" thread should have some interesting ads.

Staph is huge topic in the wrestling community and we takes steps to try to locate it and prevent it...

Hang in there Rocket...

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes and please keep me in your prayers, this has been a very painful and scarey experience!

Hang in there Rocket. My wife got one on her hip and when they lanced it she said it was more painful than childbirth. My daughter had one on her butt when she was like 1 1/2 and they had to lance hers and I felt so bad for her because of the pain. We had to steralize everything in the house virtually and having 3 other kids was very tough. We made it through and have not had any issues since but it can spread easily and the nose is a very common area for the flare up. You likely picked it up on your hands/fingers and not that I am calling you a nose picker but you probably transferred it that way. Good Luck man.

Who doesn't pick there nose from time to time :D I've become a germaphobe since, washing and sanitizing my hands 2 or 3 times an hour

Well I'm still here and not looking like I'm going home today. I've been poked more times than a pin cushion, and I've had a 2 day headache. In my sleep I accidently hit myself in those and I'll admit this grown man shed a tear or 2. I hate missing church this morning but fortunately our church is broadcast on tv. My fiancé has done a good job of waiting on me which is nice :D

Hope you are doing OK. I assume they are giving you IV antibiodicts. Make sure you disinfect your home when you get back!
