I think Trinity will be playing SK in the playoffs Ryle is not good enough to beat SK.

 

Are you serious? SK has one player that is very talented there QB Lawrence other than that there Avg at best. Just want to know are you really serious or are you on here just driving people crazy,because if your serious you need to watch more football SK is not that good.

Other than tackles, because that doesnt really prove anything, what kind of stats is the D putting up this year? INTs, FR, Yards/GM, PTS/GM? Just suspicious of the claim of greatness...

We have been reading much about how great this year's SK team is? What say you? Do they possess anything to legitimately be worried about? I have read about their running, passing, and kicking prowess. Some of this leads me to believe they may be a real player this year. Is this true? Or, are we being lead to slaughter by blind fandom?

Sure this SK team could hit stride and be a contender, but at this stage in the game I don't really see that happening. I would love for it to happen, but it just doesn't seem to be there this year. Last years team was far and away better than this years team.

I think they were a great team last year and if they had drew Trinity in the 3 round (instead of X), SK would have won. However, they aren't even close to the team they were a year ago. They are probably a little more like their team from 08', the team which made the finals with a weaker draw....they aren't making a run this year, not without thier ticket.

 

Agree with pretty much everything you said. Last year SK had all of the pieces, talented line, great QB, best RB in the state(arguably), and some solid athletes. This year they still have a great QB, and some good athletes but that's about it.

I think it is more a matter of wanting to gauge potential competition from a fan's perspective. Given how Ryle in 2006 and SK in 2008 were both talked up, we are more curious as to an outsider's perspective. We know that the most vocal fans will label a team as the best ever and could easily beat the top teams in the state. However I suspect he is wanting to get a more realistic view as opposed to a team with an anointed (by some, well one) "Top Defense" giving up 34 to an Ohio team and 28 to Dixie.

I really never understood why some people have thought that this years SK team would be even better than last years. When you lose a guy like Simpson, its hard to be as good. I just never understood it for why people still have talked about SK being as good. SK still is a good team, but they are not as good as last year IMO. So no Trinity does not really have much to worry about with them this year. If it was last years team still, then I would say SK could have beaten them though.

Leatherneck one taught me in one of his "Football for Dummies" sessions that the key to offensive success is the O-line. It has been reported that SK's O-line play has not been very solid this year, and nothing like it was last year. If this is true, then SK may struggle in the posteason.

SK was in no way shape of form "talked up" in 08, perhaps in 2009 and rightfully so, but not one bit in 2008. They hobbled into the playoffs in 08 and then played some great football to get to the finals, unless of course you're a T/X fan in which case they were handed a free trip on a silver platter.

I think it was just 2 years ago after 7 games SK was hade a record of 3 wins and 4 losses. They had just got crushed by Bonne County 42 -7 at home. They changed their QB and I think a couple O linemen. They won their final 3 games to make the playoffs as #4 seed. They won all of their playoff games on the road to make it to the finals. Do I think they will beat Ryle to win NKY, no. Do I think they can beat X or T, no. Would I over look them, NO.

 

I read all the posts about SK and this is about the best one I have read to date. Since they put Lawrence in QB they have been a great ball team. Able to win state, posssibly, never count anyone out. Their O-line is getting better now their RB core needs to follow suit.

I think they need to let Baldwin or Lockard run the ball or maybe even Nate Powell to get the running game going. Last week though Crane caught 3 screen passes and scored on one so I think it is coming together.
