September 14, 201016 yr Hopkinsville senior soccer player Savannah Young collided with an opposing player tonight during their game. She has been airlifted to Vanderbilt. Prayers are desperately needed for her and her family and her teammates. Thank you.

September 14, 201016 yr Author Hoptown was playing Paducah Tilghman in girls' varsity soccer. I was personally not at the game tonight, but from what I have been told by those that were, Savannah and a PT girl ran into each other. Apparently the other girl's head hit Savannah just below the ear, on the side of the neck. She stood on the field for a second, then dropped like a stone. She was initially unconscious, but then was awake but unable to feel below her waist. The helicopter came and took her to Vanderbilt from the field. I believe the other girl was uninjured, thank goodness. If I hear anything at all, I will be sure to let you know. Please continue to pray for everyone. This HHS soccer team is made up of 8 very close-knit seniors that have played together for years and they are all scared to death. Not to mention her parents and younger sister. Thanks so much.
