Don't worry about it. Highlands will make up the money going deep into the playoffs and on to state because they prepared themselves during the regular season playing good teams like Withrow.

I was at the game and the stands were anything but empty. I thought it was a very good crowd.

I was glad to see Jason Waldenmeyer get some time. I thought he did a pretty good job.

 

I noticed this, too. Jason had a fine game and his varsity experience will go a loooong way in developing a fine offensive lineman...much needed this year as depth is a problem. Heard he has been the head chef serving "pancakes" in the JV games...glad he's finally getting a shot at the Friday night lights!

Ditto. Withrow appeared to travel about as well as any of the NKY teams that come to town. We weren't packed like sardines, but there wasn't exactly room to stretch out either.

The stands on the Withrow side looked very empty from our vantage point. The reason it looked full was that it was loaded with blue shirts. I'd say there was as many or more Highlands fans over there as there were Withrow fans.

Withrow did well in limiting the time Patrick had to throw and in coverage, so the Birds went another route. Not terribly concerned, because they should see very few defensive backfields that are as athletic as what they faced last night. Agree about the short game. They could do major damage AND set up the long play that they're so set on if they'd just dump an occasional pass into the flat. Compton was sorely missed last night, but Towles, True and Streeter all looked great in his absence.

 

I wouldn't say sorely missed, True ran great.

Withrow just got beat by Cincy Taft tonight by a score of 12-6, to drop to 0-4 on the season. For those who don't know, Taft is not exactly a football power. How in the heck did Highlands manage to give up 27 against a team that only scored 6 points against Taft tonight? Strange...
