The Highlands player that really impressed me in the Beechwood game is the safety, #1. Sorry I don't know his name. He was on the field the entire game and he was everywhere. He looked to be the fastest player on the field to me and has a real nose for the ball.

 

#1 is Ty Seidl. Pound for pound one of the toughest HHS players.

BW just going through the growing pains of a young team. Will be all right in 1a play. Mayfield will be a load. Hope they get prepared.

I figured that was who it was based on the praise I have heard and read for Seidl. He appears to be Dale's leader on the field for this year's defense. Just like last year when Roller never left the game, Seidl was out there all night and deservedly so. If I were picking players off Highlands to start my team, he would be my first pick on the defensive side.

 

The other thing I will say about Highlands (LN will love this) is their offensive line play is really what makes them go, especially pass blocking. When your QB can hang out in the pocket and not worry about pressure, good things happen. Beechwood couldn't touch Towles all night and as a result he sat back, waited and read the defense, his receivers ran till they got open and he hit the target. On the running side, Highlands did not have much success in the limited runs they attempted. They didn't run much so I can't say for sure if this is an area that needs improvement by the Bluebirds, but containing the running game is the one area where I would say Beechwood held their own against the Bluebirds.

I hear you. There are many posters on here that have never gone to Highlands or even played football for them. Some are running their mouth and they have no clue what they are talking about. It does hurt the reputation of the Highlands fans ,alumni and anyone involved with HHS football . Usually you can tell the knowledgable fans and former players , by simply reading inbetween the lines of their posts. If a person gets on here and talks trash or insults the opposing teams before or after the game , chances are they didn't go to HHS. I know for a fact there are many posters on here that talk about Highlands that don't even live in Ft. Thomas. If that's what "floats their boat" so be it !!

Streeter is a very good back and he wasn't getting much. I just didn't see the holes running the ball that I thought I would. I am just saying this might be an area for improvement for the Birds. But again, it was a very limited sample in the Beechwood game since the passing offense was doing so much damage.

I have yet to see any posts from Highlands fans that are demeaning or insulting about other schools. Just because there are posters that might be Highlands fans but tell it like it is and dont yap the same stuff that is spoken by the same posters everyday doesnt mean they are insulting anyone.

 

Last I checked I didnt know that you had to wear a highlands uniform past or present to post about Highlands sports or be a fan. Wake up and put the kool aid down for a day. Its the elitist attitude that you portray that gives fellow Highlands fans a bad name.

Streeter is good, but he depends an awful lot on jukes, cuts, and overall quickness to get his yards. Beechwood wasn't allowing that on Friday, possibly because Compton wasn't in the backfield. Compton is more of a power runner and bulls over tacklers. I think they compliment each other nicely. (Then again, a little improvement wouldn't hurt.)
