Nyjer Morgan - Thoughts?

No problem plowing the catcher.

No problem stealing bases.

Looked like a horses patoot after the fight. That was ugly.

Does the first baseman of the Marlins get suspended as well? And for how long?

At first he was definitely defending his pitcher, but after the initial hit, he began throwing several punches.

Everyone knows if he would have been safe he would have scored the go ahead run in a tight game late right? He goes out of his way to plow a catcher after hitting one a week ago that was standing behind the plate. He was so worried about plowing the catcher against the Cards that he missed the plate to get to him and there wasn't even a throw. Then he plows a guy he had no business plowing and he's out for the year with an injury. The catcher didn't block the plate in either case. Who else could possibly be in the wrong? I don't mind that he stole the bases. He shouldn't mind that they threw at him again for stealing. I wonder what his team mates think? In both cases he didn't score the run.

That sounds somewhat familiar, only change year to career.

Things were different then, but I kind of agree. Was the catcher blocking the plate on that play though?

Yeah, things are different. You have to be more PC in professional sports lol. I am pretty sure he was blocking the plate, but I was more referring to the fact that it was an All-Star game. Either way, I love Pete Rose, but that's what your statement made me think of.

Agree. And I'd hit him again next time we faced one another. Only this time I'd actually hit him. Poor effort throwing at him. The pitch missed about as bad as Morgan's weak left.

I have no problem with any of the stealing, taking out the catcher or plunkings. I do think it is pretty bad to start in on the fans in the stands. That will cost him alot of games and coin in my opinion.

Which was a bigger miss? The haymaker or the umps not throwing this guy out of the game.

I have zero problem with the plowing of the Marlins catcher, I have no problem with them hitting him, I have no problem with him stealing bases, and I have no problem with him charging the mound. The only thing I have a problem with is him throwing the ball into the stands a little while back.

I'd be shocked to see him suspended.

My guess it will only be the two main combatants and maybe a manager or two.

I don't understand why people think it's of to plow a catcher not blocking the plate. Especially when both times he cost his team a run when he should have scored.

The kid has problems, even he agreed hitting him the first time was okay but why are the Marlins getting a pass for throwing behind him a second time. I keep hearing this unwritten rule thing about stealing behind so many runs. So are you expected to just stop trying if the other team has a lead, if so MLB needs a mercy rule.

Dont see many problems with the actions he took. The only thing that bugged me is when he was getting escorted off the field he was acting very badly. I think that is what stood out the most to me.

Costing his team a run has nothing to do with it. Why is it not ok to plow the catcher? When is it ok?
