Who wins and why?

The Cards return 8 starters on offense with a new spread attack. They only return 5 starters on defense that promises to be more aggressive. With a new Coach Driving this Cardinal team is it enough to beat the mighty Wildcats?

The "mighty" Wildcats? Not sure about that, but I do think the Cats are better in nearly every facet of the game and I think they will win by 4.

I think that U of L will be improved this season, and I don't know if UK will be overall. However I do think UK's offense will be better and that will be too much for U of L. Cards will make it close but I've got UK winning.

However I am pretty worried about this game, because we don't know about Coach Phillips. I have to think that Strong is a little more prepared to be a HC and that will be an advantage for the Cards.

Cats by 7 over the Cards.

Depends which UK team comes to play. UK plays like they did most of last season they will win. They play like they did against Louisville last season they will lose. They can't give U of L the opportunities this year they gave them last year and expect to win.

Kentucky 31-24.

I hope that Josh Bleser of UofL and formerly of CovCath has a huge day!

Curious as to why you think Strong is more prepared to be a head coach? There coaching experience seems pretty similar.

I think Kentucky comes out strong on offense and has a solid 1st half but struggles in the 2nd half. UK's defense will provide just enough to beat the Cards. UK wins by 10.

Which network is carrying this game?

I think UofL wins at home by 3. They played well enought to win last season and was not very aggressive on offense or defense. I do think UK has a ton of speed and will cause problems for the Cards. But I think UL offense puts points on the board and some local kids have big games.

UL 24

UK 21

Strong has about 6 more years of experience as a Coordinator and has had more success. Sure you can't compare the UF and UK programs, but still. I also think that learning under Holtz, Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier is more impressive than under Brooks, though I really like Rich Brooks. I also think that Strong has better recruiting ties, though Joker is a heck of a recruiter as well.

I like both coaches, but I think that most feel that Strong is overdue for a HC job and some feel that Joker is not ready to be a HC, atleast at this kind of program (SEC).

ABC regional coverage at 3:30.

I too think he was overdue for a hire 100%. I will put Joker and his staff up against Strong and his staff in recruiting though as I think they are very even. Wasn't Joker on Holtz's staff too at South Carolina or do I have my years mixed up? Also coached at Notre Dame - can't remember who was HC there either - and that always helps. I don't disagree with your statements, I just think they are very even right now. As a UK fan, I was really hoping ol' Steve was still at the Ville.

Cats by 7

This will be my first game at Papa John's. Any secrets I need to know?
