Looks like some ducats have landed in my lap.

On paper and position by position I think UK is better. As a UK fan the biggest concern I have is the spread option offense. UK has struggled against that offense. Granted most of the time its been against Tebow and Florida but they also struggled against Miss St. last year. Position by position:

QB: Even

RB: UK, they are very deep at this position with Russell and Sanders backing up the best back in this game in Locke.

OL: UofL returns 4 starters but they were terrible last year. UK by all accounts has their most talented and athletic line ever. How will they play together?

WR: UK simply because of Cobb

DL: UK is deeper but the tackle spot is a major concern

LB: Travathan is a stud but outside of that UK is green

DB: To me this is the absolute strength of UK's team. I can't wait to watch Guy and Bailey at safety.

With that said, I think UK wins unless they turn it over.

In reality I am looking for top notch effort, and mostly, mistake free football. I hope both teams come out injury free as this game is more for us than for the season. If those objectives are accomplished, then I can settle with the outcome either way.

I agree 100% with this. Right now, a win would be absolutely elating. But, I think most realistic UL fans would be extraordinarily happy with a great game that showed the first block of the rebuilding process is firmly in place and working.

Maybe for UL fans this game is more for the fans. However, UK desperately needs this game and it is very important to their season in terms of being able to make it to 6 wins and to another bowl game.
