Even if the economy doesn't change?

 

Yeah. For whatever reason, I just don't feel like Obama will lose in 2012. If you look at America's track record in electing presidents, at least since televised debates, we always elect the more charismatic/personable candidate (not to mention Halloween mask sales...hahaha). No one the Republicans could put up has the machismo of Barry O.

 

Just my opinion, but I'd love to be wrong.

I saw an article over the weekend that talked about Obama's winning streak. The article spoke about how Obama is knocking off the items he promised to accomplish one by one and several of them were accomplished just recently - combat troops out of Iraq, health care reform and financial reform were all campaign promises. GM is about to issue stock and repay the government. The oil spill is contained and whatever damage that is left is now way back on the backburner for the media. Obama is building a resume of accomplishment he can sell to the voters despite how you may feel about what he achieved with all those. Add to that the right wing push on immigration reform that is giving the large and growing hispanic vote to democrats. Yes, I think it will be difficult to beat him in 2012. The economy is the biggest obstacle to his re-election. If jobs start coming back and the public starts feeling better about the economy, it is probably all over barring some major blunder.

 

And, no, I really don't see him replacing Biden. All that would do is put another unknown into the mix. He won with Biden. Biden does not generate negativity that will cost Obama votes so why would he change.

Depends on what poll you read. I like Rasmussen's polls because he only polls likely voters (which is all that matters when we're talking about elections.)

His argument was that it's just semantics to say that we're of Iraq with 50k non-combat troops still there. My point is that the families of those who are out would disagree.
