I think team chemistry is very important in the major leagues. And to address your other point-Dunn has always put up big numbers, but his teams have always lost. Reminds me of former Bengal Doug Pelfrey the kicker. Wasn't on winning teams in high school, college or the pro's. Very accurate kicker. Give me guys that are proven winners. Jim Edmonds is one.........give me Lonnie Smith...always seemed to end up on winners.... Derek Fisher in hoops... Robert Horry too. You can't dismiss as coincidence that some guys are on winners and some guys aren't, especially when in today's age they play on so many different teams.

You can't dismiss the coincidence the talent around guys when they do win. Dunn hasn't had any his whole career and it's crazy to say that teams lose because he is lazy or isn't a leader

Let me address these very slowly and check back at the beginning of the thread and see if I ma not consistent. I do not like Adam Dunn and would never want him on my major league team-much like many of the "real GM's of the game as he was NOT heavily pursued this past off season when he was a free agent. He is the laziest defensive player in the outfield I have ever seen. Haven't watched him much at first base, but I think the Reds are solid at that spot.

 

Sean Casey was a good hitter-that's all. Fair on defense, and had chances later in his career to prove what a winner he was with Detroit and Boston. You tell me what happened. B Phil is okay, and is not a star player, but can be a contributor. He is a hot dog, but that is cool. He and Casey are both great witht the fans, especially the little kids and that is very cool in my book. Aaaron Harang-are you kidding? Worthless....the Reds would have moved hiom already if they could have.

 

You create the questions and then always come back with the same answer-"what factual evidence do you have"......the evidence is the teams he ends up on. Do you recall what JP Riccardi-the former GM of Toronto said about Dunn?

Dunn had a chance to be a great player, but his inherent laziness got the best of him, and he will soon be a DH so he won't have to be in the field at all.

If there was a problem in the clubhouse (and I'm not sure there was) it was most likely with Griffey. Other than the "unnamed sources" who has said Dunn's not a good team guy? Not the Nats. They've praised him. Gammons has praised him. Who hasn't?

 

Secondly, the lame excuse that the Reds are now winning without Dunn so it must have been Dunn shows two things: 1)a jaundiced eye towards Dunn and 2) a COMPLETE lack of knowledge of how a team works.
