Brett Favre to Retire

Featured Replies

Why because you don't like him?

It has nothing to do with liking him or not, I'm just sick of him all over Sportcenter. It's been a dog on roller coaster with this dood for the past four years. If he is hurt and can't play, then he needs to stop. There is no way he is mentally leaning back and forth as much as he says, with less than 6 weeks to go untill the season starts he hased to have a pretty good idea of what he can and can't do. If he does come back (which I think he will) hes not doing anything but hurt his teams chances to win. I mean come on, the dood is turning his retirment into a three ring circus. Nobody's going to know for sure when he's done until he is dead.

Is he doing it or is the media? I haven't seen him come out and say he is retiring but the media sure has blown it up. I know we like to think we have a great idea about what is going on. I think when people step back and look at it Childress has been content with what is going on and so has his teammates. That speaks way more volumes than the media. Just like last year when the media blew it up how bad he was hurting his team etc. If you watched his teammates they were fine with it and he performed. I think you just have to read between the lines with Favre.

I don't think he loves it as much as people make it out. Does every QB I know have some ego...yes. I just think he loves the games + wants to compete but he has been beaten like none of us can imagine. He knows good and well (along with his teammates + coaches) that he doesn't like camp but will perform/lead when the lights go on. It wasn't a mystery when they got him so I'm not going to kill him for it. Do people really think he's going to come in early? Every teammate I've seen love him, feels like he's paid his dues to wait till late and want him to lead them. The media spins the whole thing out of control.

He is different than any individual in the game of football. He's earned rights IMO along with the teammates I've seen that others don't get. His body has been through the ringer at his age playing QB in the NFL.

I hope to heck he comes back. It's good for the NFL IMO.

Look, Favre is an interesting person and people like him no person is denying that. He holds all the chips like every season. If you do not think he gets a kick out of this, I have some ocean front property in Wyoming I would love to sell you. :D

He'll be playing. He just caused some temporary anxiety for Vikings fans and fantasy owners.

Saw some Vikings on TV and they didn't sound real happy. "hey, its hot and this is hard stuff I'm not worried about him, we have work to do".

I don't mind him playing again, but get into camp!

Why get in to camp? If I were Brett, I would not come in until the second or third week of preseason games.

He is old, very experienced, and plays at a high level without camp. Camp would probably do more bad than good in this case.

I think he likes it because all QB's have a little ego. I just think the media is dying to make a story out of it and be the first to break it. They also try to kill him for being in camp. He is a STUD without camp. At his age he doesn't need camp. The media would like to paint a bad picture but the Vikings were really good without him in camp. If the media would shut up and stop guessing there would be no story.

Ding! Ding! Ding! That's what he did last year, and he didn't show up to Jets training camp until just before the first pre-season game 2 years ago. Brett has never liked going to training camp. That's all this is.
