August 8, 201016 yr Hanley Ramirez with a 1 out, RBI triple in the bottom of the 10th to give the Marlins a 5-4 victory. Reds with a 1 1/2 game lead. :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa Thanks for the update... We need to get some cushion before that West Coast swing.
August 8, 201016 yr After looking at the boxscore I have to give Cordero a little credit. He registered his 1st hold of the year.:lol: And he didn't give up any hits.
August 8, 201016 yr Someone did say that, didn't they? lol I like the heck out of the guy. He's doing a great job but let's not put him in the Hall of fame yet.
August 8, 201016 yr Never said that, but when you're GM and ownership is stupid enough to invest that kind of money in a slightly better than average closer, you're hands are tied. You can't move him, the Reds aren't the type of team that can eat his contract, so you've got to use him. Masset's numbers are terrible this year. You guys said how he's so unhittable, yet he's got a 4.5ish ERA. How is that possible? I said at the beginning of the year, he wasn't near as good as his numbers last year, and I was right. Masset's ERA from April 30th through yesterday is 2.41. I would hardly say that is terrible. He had 2 terrible games in April where he gave up 9 ER's in an inning and a 1/3. In the 50 other innings he has pitched his ERA is 2.70.

August 8, 201016 yr Today's lineups Where's Nix versus the righty? 1) Heisey CF 2) Cairo 2B 3) Votto 1B 4) Gomes LF 5) Bruce RF 6) Francisco 3B 7) Hanigan C 8) Janish SS 9) Wood LHP (2-1, 2.42) 1) Castro SS 2) Baker 2B 3) Lee 1B 4) Ramirez 3B 5) Byrd CF 6) Soriano LF 7) Nady RF 8) Hill C 9) Diamond RHP (0-1, 4.50)
August 8, 201016 yr Letting facts get in the way of opinions is always tricky. Masset has been their second best bullpen pitcher for a long time. He has filthy good stuff. He pitches with more confidence now. He is going to be a stud closer one day soon. Along with Arthur and Ondrusek, I like who the team can throw out there late. Coco is the weak link.
August 8, 201016 yr He's doing a great job but let's not put him in the Hall of fame yet. I don't think you said he couldn't hit at all. Over a two month stretch, though, he is more than capable of hitting .260 or better. I think we'll be okay.
August 8, 201016 yr Any word on Brandon? Manager Dusty Baker told MLB.com, 'It's hurting him pretty badly. He couldn't move. We have a few guys kind of hobbling right now that we want to get 100 percent before the Cardinals series. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Brandon_Phillips/1086368#ixzz0w24zYh7R

Yeah my biggest problem was with the possibility of Dusty slotting him in the 2 hole. It looks like that concern has been resolved.
August 8, 201016 yr Any word on Brandon? BP Is tough as nails when it comes to playing with minor injuries. Unless he can't walk you will see him out there on Monday to start the Cards series.
August 8, 201016 yr Why do these guys keep talking about that ball hit yesterday? "Hardest ball we've ever seen hit"...Yeah that's why it got caught... Not only was it mentioned throughout the game yesterday but they are continuing to talk about it today. Wow...
