August 7, 201016 yr Wrong...Only Dusty is wrong more, I believe. LRCW explained it very well. Re-read his post. Dusty did not make the move at exactly the right time. He had an 0-2 count on the guy, and was attacking him inside with the fastball, something you two have been whining about him needing to do forever on here. If that doesn't slip, it's most likely another K, and the Cubs are down to their final out.

August 7, 201016 yr Let's talk about the real issue from this one. If BP is out, this infield is getting VERY thin... I think he'll be fine. He'll obviously sit tomorrow, which may force Rolen into missing his normally scheduled Sunday rest, but be back and ready to go for the Cards series.

Let's pray that a day off tomorrow, and two days of extensive treatments will have him ready for the Cardinals series. I imagine we could see Cairo at 2nd tomorrow, and possibly Francisco at 3rd to give Rolen a day off before Monday.

August 7, 201016 yr Author Makes you wonder why they were so quick to give up on Drew Sutton He was the easiest choice to make as far as taking somebody off the 40 man roster. I'm not sure he even started for Louisville. I know Cozart is the SS, and Valaika the 2nd basemen.

You simply can't afford to have your closer do that, and now certainly isn't the time you stick with a guy that can't throw strikes.

They seem to be sticking with Volquez in the rotation...He's had more control problems than anyone...:idunno:

He pitched very well in the 1st game, and had only two walks going into the 7th today before walking two more batters. I think he should be given a little more leeway.

I'm not necessarily saying I disagree, but with them being in a pennant race, how long can they allow him to deplete the bullpen with 5 inning outings. Today, he got into the 7th, and I'm still trying to figure out how, because he certainly didn't have his "A" stuff.

August 8, 201016 yr Author Marlins blow a great pitching perfomance by Josh Johnson as Leo Nunez blows a save and a 3-2 lead as the Cardinals take a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Dan Uggla hits a HR in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings.
