I think it was the right call, but I do find it interesting that he saved Rolen earlier in the year (Against the Phils) because he didn't want them to intentionally walk him to get to Brandon Phillips.

You can't take the chance of leaving Votto on the bench. With a sore wrist, it worked out perfectly. You're not going to pinch hit for Rolen, Gomes or Bruce in the 9th...

Say you don't use him there, Janish gets out and ends the inning. Cairo and Rolen both get out to start the 9th....Would you use Votto in Gomes' place with 2 out in the 9th or leave him on the bench?
